FINALLY home from work

Its a very nice demo! Nothing mind blowing, but good fast effects, and waaay better than anything I could do!

A good start to the OS4 demoscene, I think

@hyph-n

Open AHI from the prefs drawer and note down the Mode ID in the information box for your current music unit. Then edit the runme file and replace the two 0x0.... numbers (after the -I) with your Mode ID.

Should run ok then.

Cheers,

Bean.

@Crisot

Ran the AVI on a win2k box and only got sound - tried with Quicktime, WMP, WinAmp and RealPlayer.

Screenshots look wicked though. Every time I pop in here, something new and exciting is on the go!

Oh crumbs... 35MB?!? I don't wanna download something as big as that!

I'll just assume it's great! Can anyone post some stills from it?

@Etho

Mmm... I'm not really enthusiastic enough for that. I might watch the tape a couple of times, then let it gather dust!

I may download the compressed version when I've got some spare online time.

You can see some of MY Amiga-generated work at www.3btv.com

@Crisot

EXCELLENT!

I don't have my A1 (yet) but I downloaded the video, and it was fantastic to see what can be achieved with AmigaOS4 in it's current state, even without NOVA... I'm looking forward to some new original OS4 games now...

Hi z5,

AmigaOne! Pre-AOS4.0! On an A4K*, even without "Warp3D NOVA", the MPEG2 shows an A1 playing ZERO, and kicking BUTT!!!!!

* Disclaimer: I don't own an A4K.

I seriously doubt it. Like Pegasos demos, i'd imagine most will just use the provided 3D and sound drivers.

I'm very impressed by what they've accomplished WITHOUT 3D drivers! I personally don't see the point of a demo running through a standard 3D API - where's the challenge?

it is not because you are using a 3D api, or 3D drivers that a demo or really cool effects will write themself. you will still need very smart code to do amazing things.

you could also be complaining about the fact it needs a A1, what is the challenge in creating effects on a fast cpu? same thing...
