@Rogue

That's very nice of you... to be honest I had to double check whether it was an impostor who posted it

See, Hans-Joerg, it looks like you're not the only one to get "nice" appellatives The issue is simply that unpolite people are everywhere, on every side.

@falemagn

tsk tsk. Your english is not too good: in my dictionary 'priest' is not a synonym for 'wanker'. Please stop whining.

That is the issue, all right, and my fault is that I am easily provoked. Instead of just looking the other way, I will retaliate.

However, I reserve for me that it indeed requires a provokation for me to get nasty. I never do it on my own accord. That is not a quality that can be said about other people. And unlike other people I try to avoid (mostly successful) to become personal.

And where did I say it is?

Thanks for proving my point

Forgotten or not, you were in violation, but you said you weren't, and did that agressively and condescendigly.

That's all that matters for the issue at hand, and insulting people will not make you look any better.

That isn't all that matters. Computer people are so cold and logical (myself included) that it sometimes makes you wonder how we carry on in society at all. Who cares if you hurt someone's feelings as long as you point out the facts? These strong feelings are not simply just going to go away because you want them to.

Most people know why the Frieden's were a bit aggressive in their responses. There is a long history of accusations and attacks that caused that response. Feelings were hurt a long time ago and this latest volley just rubbed salt in the wounds.

I disagree with Bernie's decisions. He should have shown more respect despite the initial reaction. A simple private email to point out the errors would have been enough. The thread was hostile from the very beginning and he just added fuel to the fire instead of taking the high road.

We all know what all this GPL violation crap is really about. It is about a public feud between clans. Both sides want to see the other fail and the GPL is another way to stick it to them and nothing more.

Come on guys. Let's see some respect for each other first, the spirit of the GPL second and the letter of the law a distant and far away third. [sigh]

@sgm

Now it looks like ANN here.

@falemagn

You really do have to keep pushing don't you?

@Rogue

I'm sorry you have to have this happen to you, we really should have taken Amidogs experience as a lesson at what happens when you make mistakes with the GPL.

@Thread

Now I'm p****d off that I'm not going to get to use ScummVM.
