To confirm what klesterjr said:

Today is a national holiday in the States.

" Americans paused Monday to remember Martin Luther King and his legacy..." as the lead says in a Yahoo news story.

Nice thought, bad timing though. Seems I wont know until tomorrow ( I hope) !

For anyone who still has the slightest bit of doubt, I can now confirm this to be 100% Amiga.com genuine.

Do you get this national holiday as a paid break from work?

I thought you lot usually said "vacation?" WE say "holiday!"

Here in Britain we have less national holidays: three behind the European average. How about "Amiga day?"

Most companies will pay but it depends on the company.

"Vacation" is usually used to designate extended time off for recreation (Summer vacation) like 1 or 2 weeks off in a row (not 4-8 weeks like many in U K/Europe I guess) but that too depends on the company and how long one has been employed by that company. So yes, in that sense "Vacation" is like your "Holiday" time.

But individual days off by Federal and/or state governments are usually called "holidays" like "Flag Day" or "President's Day" etc.

Hummmm "Amiga Day" sounds great!

Perhaps soon every day will be an Amiga Day? I hope so!

!! Not anyone I've ever heard of! We get one week, two if we're very lucky. Maybe three or four if we help run the country :p

From: Behind dikes, on seabottom. Netherlands, that is. More exact: Flevoland.

This is the Netherlands calling...

At least two Dutch Amigans have received their t-shirt today.

Well, not quite- that's like the song "I wish it could be Christmas every day!"

If EVERY day was Christmas or an Amiga day, it wouldn't exactly be special would it?

Confirm Amiga T-shirt, one, for the use of. Arrived in todays post. I for one would like to thank all those involved in producing and delivering the T-shirt. After all that has happened it was a nice surprise. Not that I had any doubts or anything so thanks anyway.

It comes in a small white padded package, should fit through the letter box no problem.

Not quite... mine got stuck through the mailslot in my front door, the mailman rang the doorbell because it would not go in further nor come back out to him!
The envelope ripped but the shirt is all right! (for anyone who got worried )

@thread

Would have posted this earlier but the mail came at the same time I was leaving for work so I had to wait until I got a break so I could get on the internet.

Anyway came with todays mail. Nice t-shirt will have to wash it first a couple of times in hot water before it's wearable.

Will take a pic and send it to Bobson when I get home!

@sicky

Peterborough is the main hub for east anglia, We are having huge troubles with mail/parcels going astray.

What is happening is the Postal services are employing agency workers. These workers dont give a dead rats ass for the job.. Just gimme me money !!

When their shift is coming to an end they simply stuff any mail/parcels they have remaining through ANYONES letterbox !!

I've had to deliver (by hand) quite a few letters to the other side of our estate that have delivered to us.

In case you people haven't realised...

I aint got my T-Shirt yet

But then.. I did say I wasn't that much bothered about it !!

@DaveP "master of moderation and spreading things like the stuff below"

> Hope this isn't another tedious prank like the one done by those "masters of
> comedy" at AmigaZeux a few years back.

Thanks for the credits but #amigazeux has nothing to do with sending out t-shirts at any point in time I'm afraid to say.

Anyway, funny thought but we don't have enough money to waste for something like this.

@victim

FYI, DaveP doesn't moderate this website at all.

BTW, why do you consider yourself a 'Victim' considering the Developer Workstations you guys received a short while ago? Surely core MorphOS developers and also ordinary Pegasos users are far more 'victims' than the #AmigaZeux guys are.

I think its nice that everyone is getting the t-shirts they've been waiting patiently for, now to get respect from the rest of the world...
