| I'm sure I'm not the 1st person to do this, but just for fun I've decided to put together a patched/enhanced/etc Workbench 1.3 setup, the overall goal being to see just how usable and attractive such a system can be, along with what software it can run.
If anyone has any WB1.x OS enhancement or patch suggestions I'd love to hear about them.
Thanks in advance. |

I had a go at it when I made that stripped down Windows machine that booted straight into an emulated Amiga 500.
I only remember this part (installing workbench 1.3 to hdd) http://guide.abime.net/wb1.3/chap1.htm |

| My first Amiga was a 500 bought at the tail of 1989. We didn't have money for a HDD upgrade. Before I upgraded to a 1200 in 1993 or so, I found the most "productive" workbench environment was made using a RAD: drive, the 500 being upgraded with a 512KB expansion. This worked well, though of course every file on the RAD: was scrutinized to ensure it was essential, and every program was PowerPacked. Probably I'd have had a better experience with a second floppy drive, but the RAD: was at least fast. I wish I had image of the disk I used to prepare the machine each time I turned it on. :( _________________ Blog |
