Years ago I was on the I-Amiga bitnet listserv list. I tried to sign up for it awahile back, but it has apparently gone away.

I was known there the same as I am here, JimP. So if anyone here was on that email ist, Howdy ! And if you weren't, Howdy !

The last time I booted my Amiga computers up, the A1000 and A3000 worked. I didn't have much in the way of commercial software; Final Copy word processor, a directory utility I don't remember the name of, and maybe a few others. I have three A500s I want to get working again. One had 1 meg of video ram.

I was given the early version of CrossDOS by another Amiga user where I lived back then. I used ftpmail to get files back in the late 1980s. I know ftpmail no longer exists.

I did notice a pd/shareqware 3.5" floppy distribution back then in an Amiga magazein, probably .info and bought a few disks.

Tried watching youtube videos on repairing my computers, but I find pdfs with pictures to be easier to follow.

@JimP

A3000, computer I ever wanted to have.

Getting PD software is now much easier than in the good old times (thanks to Aminet), transfer to Amiga may be tricky, but there are some good ways (eg. AmigaExplorer from Cloanto). Note eab.abime.net is more "classic" oriented forum, worth a try if you need more help hardware-wise.

And of course...

Welcome!

@pavlor

Thank you !

I am uncertain how much pd/shareware disks I have. It could be as many as 150. I know their approximate location, but they are burried somewhat behind other boxes. They are in closed plastic containers so they should all be good.

Currently no way to share them. I have to be sure my Amiga computers work first. And then find a way to connect one of them to the internet.

I read somewhere in the past few days, binge reading about my Amigas, and I noticed using a Rapsberry pI and an ethernet cable to make some connections.

I have a rapsberry pi, and a beaglebone black.

edit: Its the Fred Fish disks I have.

@JimP,

Look into getting your Classics recapped. Acill is a poster here and has a repair service, not expensive but good. he's in California.
