I've just managed to get SimCity 2000 working on my Picasso IV using ModePro and the Force Planar functionality (very cool and actually compareable to PC and Mac now on a 060)!
Is the same trick possible on Theme Park AGA? I remember it not being as slow as SimCity 2000 so may be it's not necessary but just wondering.
Also just managed to patch Exodus: The Last War at long last with proper RTG support rather than the slow AGA to RTG emulated mode out of the box. Again it is actually a fun speed on a 060 now. Shame these games weren't optimised for RTG at launch. I guess SimCity 2000 had an excuse launching in 1994 but Exodus?

First let me apologize for my negative post that is not very usefull since it's not about your question but i must share my opinion here... Simcity 2000 is not comparable to pc and mac on an 060 when promoting it to rtg screens. Not even when running on vampire. (last time i tested it must have been about 1.5 years ago on vampire 2 for A600) The amigaport is simply just crap :(
iirc i even started it on an "fast" os4 machine and felt that it runs too slow compared to how i remembered it from back in the days when i was playing it on my 486 pc. But that must have been a long time ago so i might just have just dreamt about it or so...
It is playable on a fast amiga and it's a great game but if i wanted to play for more than a few minutes i would use a mac emulator.
About Theme park.. i doubt you can promote it to rtg and have never tested it but i'm sure i would have heard about it if it was possible :(
But i totally agree about that it's a shame that the games was not properly done for rtg amigas.

Since my city has over 2 million residents and I've no idea whether the save files are compatible I think I'll stay with my 'slow' Amiga version. You can tell that the screen is redrawing when scrolling the city still (which is awful considering the Amiga's custom hardware is amazing at scrolling), but it is now very playable. May be the PC and Mac versions are still smoother? Wing Commander CD32 was similarly hobbled by careless programming I remember
... bu at least there is a WHDLoad installer / patch for Wing Commander CD32 (with 256 colours ).
Saying that, if the ModePro program has hijacked/forced the planar graphics to the RTG card then are the custom AGA chips stilled involved in the scrolling etc? Probably not. Just a badly coded game then. But still great fun!
