I have this current problem, recently I format my hard disk and I forgot to make the backups of Tower 57 and Amiga Racer (both I have originals), fortunately Tower 57 I could updated but Amiga Racer no, how I'll can update the game? because the site is death, copying the Windows files not is possible because the executable to run the new tracks and cars isn't compatible with MorphOS.

Full format or fast format? If you just did a basic format then might be a good time to run a recovery tool.

I did four partition instead of three. The data obviously are lost.

I am going to restore my Games&Emulators partition with Amiga Racer on it.I don't find the key for now.

Thanks, but I have the MorphOS version, the AmigaOS4 never I played neither updated. The key is same for all versions and the original cd comes with standard key, only with AmigaTec worked they swnd a personal key with your name, for the highscores online.

Lost yes. Just a matter of finding it. If not destroyed. You need some program to scan the HDD for a particular file name like DiskMonTools could do. Then extract the data out. IIRC PhotoRec was some PC program that scanned for pictures. Similar concept. But likely the file could be encrypted and full of digital rubbish to the naked eye.

Thanks all, I found update v3.97 installed in my mac mini, now I can play the game with my powerbook althoug I can't save the future highscores.
But this is a problem as to have much trust in the new future games.

We want the things free and some forums the people give much important for proyects no for Amiga?

I agree. Amiga sales would be low and Amiga people are stingy. Though it was strange to release a game called Amiga Racer on Windows. And also it was going to have it's own arcase box IIRC.

I never got past the demo. I played it sometimes. But the bugs annoyed me.

I wonder why it had legal issues where as other game titlles are fine. They slipped up somewhere. I should be able to buy it from AmiStore.

I can't find the thread now and I don't remember specific details but I saw it mentioned over at Morphzone that the game used someone else's work without their permission.
