| is it possible to update the SuperTuxKart on OS4depot to make use of new Warp3dNova/GL4es etc. ?
Not looking for latest version just wondering if we can get smoother play with version we already have _________________

I'm pretty sure it's possible but even the current version might work with shader support so before I say too much, I'll look into the source. I'll be back later. |

I just got it to build a Linux AMD64 version on my Linux box. The only problems I see so far are Nettle library dependency and needing a custom build script to use GLES2 on a non-Android build. It shouldn't need much for CPU but I need to do some more investigation before I jump to any conclusions.
UPDATE:
GNU Nettle is an encryption library with no apparent dependencies and will work for PPC32 Linux so a cross-compile is not out of the question. Last edited by Samurai_Crow on 15-Jul-2019 at 02:51 AM.

I build supertuxkart 0.6.2a over gl4es , but sadly to say at moment it didn't give any real speed boost. In some tracks it can be even slower than minigl version, but in some are faster. For example take a look at the track called "racetrack" :

As you can see gl4es a little bit faster there (expectually under the bridge), but not _that_ fast as one expect.
I will play with differenc settings of gl4es , as well as asking ptitSeb (gl4es author) if he have any ideas about.
I may also try to build whole supertuxkart with LTO enabled, maybe it can give some boost (at least with foobillard++ it give +10 fps), maybe will be lucky with that 0.6.2a vesion too.. _________________
