| Hi can anyone add for me to this list of classic Amiga software i.e. pre OS4 or otherwise abandoned/no longer supported software that used ClassAct/Reaction BOOPSI GUI?
I know of:
Voodoo email NewYork NNTP (anyone got a copy?) Finale Web Cruiser (unreleased) Digital Quill WebFTP CDPlay all the above by the creators of ClassAct
And then:
AWeb Eucalyptus email SysInspector ClassAction file manager AWNPipe Classmate gui builder A handful of modules for DOpus5 a bunch of small tools by 'zap@amiganet.org' and a couple of other things that can easily be found on aminet searching for 'classact' in the description field
I know there are modern apps like Filer, NetSurf and so on that use it, as well as items that are part of OS 3.9 like the prefs apps and genesis. I'm just looking to make a complete list of independent classic apps.
Anything else? _________________

Emperor (Aminet), a GUI Builder/OO 'programing environment'
Not sure if "AmigaMail" (bundled with OS 3.5) was written from scratch or just some rebranded 3rd party software. Last edited by cgutjahr on 18-Mar-2021 at 10:10 PM.

Oh, and the MIDI sequencer Horny also used Reaction, at least for parts of its GUI, IIRC. |

That's right. More specifically: in the sequencer window and the piano-roll editor Horny uses individual ReAction gadgets in the Intuition fashion, whereas the sub-windows are true ReAction GUIs using window.class and layout.gadget.

The Intuition way is good to have available for those times when weights can be coerced into powers of 2 for bit-shift optimization. I doubt the layout class could pull that off without a JIT. |
