Hi everyone,

I have started a new project called "AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup".

The aim of the project is to publish a summary of news, releases, rumours and more related to AmigaOS 4 on the last day of each month.

Hopefully this will prove a good way for people to catch up on what has happened on the platform lately.

Hope you'll like it!

Here is the first is the first AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup for January 2022:

@AmigaOldskooler

Great summary! This is the sort of thing I wish Hyperion or A-EON did, showing what's going on with the platform. Please keep it up!

I think Hyperion and A-EON should provide information about their own endeavours, rather than other people's.

@AmigaOldskooler

I was going to pick on the inclusion of new edition of Amiga Future magazine in an AmigaOS 4 roundup, as it is not an AmigaOS 4 magazine, nor is there a featured article about AmigaOS 4 in the mag, but then I decided not to.

Nice roundup though.

@eliyahu

Hi there! Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear you liked it!

@agami

The latest issue of Amiga future does feature a 3 page review of Pixy V1.0, game reviews of Oil Worker and No More Toxic Man, as well as Trevor's Soapbox and a little piece on DeepL being brought to AmigaOS 4, and probably some news too. So definitely interesting to AmigaOS 4 users I think.

@agami

I've always found Amiga Future had plenty of OS4 content when I read it but I haven't caught up with the latest.

@Hypex

I have the latest AmigaFuture of all the past 5-10 years and can say that in every one of them there is amigaos4 content including full articles. For example, in the latest one, there is news about MediaVault (os4 only) , ScummVM 2.5.0 for both OS4 and MOS, and AmiSSL which is cross-platform too.

Then there is a Trevor article which as usual mostly OS4 based (about Tabor, Enhancer, and stuff).

Then there is a review of the "Oil Worker" game by Janne for OS4.

Also article about No More Toxic Man (which for all platforms include OS4).

Then a big article on 3 pages about the OS4 pixel editor written by Sinisrus called Pixy.

Then there is a 2-page programming tutorial for OS4 by Michael Christoph.

Imho sounds very much like a lot of os4 content. Through, some years ago there were more, today there a lot about os3 games as well, but at least, the whole magazine pretty well balanced between OS3 and OS4.

@kas1e

Thanks for the write up. Yes that is a lot of OS4 content. I also recall the programmer guides being OS4 focused as well.

@AmigaOldskooler

Really nice reviews, but I think you should have given Amos Kittens a bit more challenge, I hope its not just used for runing old examples.
