It's been a few weeks since the Kea Campus launch. There's still a lot of work to do, but some additional content has been added. This includes the first actual content to the Amiga corner (beyond forum discussions).

Here's a peek at what the campus home looks like right now:

@all

Kea Campus' Amiga Corner has just received its first how-to content: How to get an AmigaOS cross-compiler up and running on your machine quickly (see below).**

It'll be public over here in about a week.

Or, you can watch it now by joining the campus (link), and support creation of more Amiga content (and software) in the process. Just say you're an Amiga user when you post in the welcome thread, so I know you're one of us.

Click here to join the campus.

** This will be followed up with more videos in future...

@all

I made a huge mistake when launching the Kea Campus: I was so focused on the "learn to code" side, that I forgot to explain why the Kea Campus' Amiga Corner exists.

No, it's NOT just an add-on, or some kind of mere token. It's there for a specific mission. A mission that I hope you'll support, because help is needed to make it a success. More support means that more is possible.

Click here to learn more.

P.S., I'm working on the next cross-compiling video, which I hope to post to the campus tomorrow (or early next week).

The next cross-compiler video is now public (campus members got so see it a week ago). This one is on setting up VS Code for AmigaOS development using the cross-compiler.

The next video in the cross-compiler series is now public. It shows you how to quickly and efficiently get your files from the cross-compiler machine over to an Amiga for testing.

@Hans

Are you aware of this?

https://github.com/alpine9000/squirt

It’s great for automated testing after builds, as it lets you “squirt” files to amiga systems and also run them on the amigas with output coming back to the build host. Low memory footprint so it works even on lowend systems with just 68000 and enough RAM to be online, like original Minimig and A500/600/1000/2000/1200 with small and inexpensive ram expansion.

@kolla

No, I wasn't aware of that. My first thought was "that's a gigantic security risk." Indeed, here's the warning:

Quote:
Please don't run squirtd on any computer that is connected to the open internet!!!

I'm going to stick with using ZitaFTP, but squirt sound like a good option... provided you heed the warning above.

@Hans

Passing around credentials in clear text over the wire (as is the case for ftp) is IMO a larger security risk than using a protocol that is without authentication :)

Nice try, but ZitaFTP Server supports end-to-end encryption, known unofficially as FTPS (or FTPES to some). I've got my servers set up to only allow secure connections.

So no clear text login details or any unencrypted data is being sent.

That's why I wrote ZitaFTP Server instead of using one of the existing Amiga FTP servers.

Right you are. Sorry. On my phone, the last parameter of the curl command didn’t show (unless I had scrolled, but it wasn’t obvious) and so I just saw ftp:// and made an erroneous presumption.
