I have an AmigaOne X5000. I also have a special X5000 AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition CD with has Update 1. The CD works fine. So far. CD's don't last forever. They can get damaged. I've been trying to make a backup of the CD on a USB stick. A straight copy doesn't work. There is some kind of copy protection. I wonder if there are any Amiga gurus out there who know of a way to copy the CD that works.

This is related to my previous question. Is it possible to make a whole drive and / or partition read only? In other words, can you fool the operating system into thinking that a hard drive is a CD-ROM drive?

Make an ISO image of the CD and mount it when needed (or burn it to another disc). I do all CD handling like this, and haven't touched to any real discs in ages.

There's the Lock command which might be handy if you have the HD connected all the time, just add it in the s:user-startup.
