Before casting your vote you may wish to quickly read my post on the following Amigaworld thread.

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=10081&forum=6

If you think that AmigaOne Productions filming, how to build a Micro A1 and installing U-Boot can be of some use, vote yes.

If you think it's not necessary, then please vote no.

@Mikey_C

hmm

Not really for the µa1. It would be interesting to have Uboot configuration filmed for the introduction of the sil card on a XE though and setting it up to dual boot debian correctly with Ross's new kernel.

All imho of course.

I'm sure some µa1 owners & potentials would like to see setting up eth3com etc.

@Mikey_C

Well, I have no use for a video of a uA1 being built, as I'm posting from a working, dual-boot A1 in a Home-Theater (re?) sized case.

But I voted "Yes", anyway. Just remember to video the thing next to a standard cola can, so other's can get a good idea just how small miniITX really is. (I've got an x86 EPIA one in an Atari 1050 case).

@syrtran

I voted yes for the fun of it!

And configuration is slightly more useful than sticking bits together.

@Mikey_C

Damn - will no one ever learn!

Yes, film the damn thing, put the camera on a freaking tripod
and don't jump around a lot, take lots of stills to supplement
the video and feel free to make reference to the materials on
http://amigairc.amigarevolution.com/kinder.html and the other
diagrams.

Got it, one POV on camera on tripod and then move to another
view. In the editing stage add stills and screengrabs to make
a really good presentation.

I am sick to death of downloading blurry or shaky videos of
meets and demos despite the efforts that were made to release
them.

A tripod, got it!!!

Oh, and you might want to burn a few CD's of your stuff beforehand
so that you can set it up right away. Maybe work on a startup sequence
replete with DH0: etc already in place so you can do assigns and
such. Open challenge to others coming to bring software they
want to see work. Don't forget that seven in one card reader too.

I wait.

Don't screw up, this is up there with ARS Technica's review of
the µA1.

@Mikey_C

I voted yes coz I wanna see Mickey Costa live!

But I too would like to see μΑ1 configuration too.

(ie. a comparison IF ANY to the A1 XE)

@Mikey_C

Filming an (micro)A1 Installation could also be used to "Propaganda" !
To show "the world" what computing is about and how the "way" has been lost with wintel machines !...
To show wintel users that putting a computer together is not that hard.
To show wintel users that you can install a Full OS and Apps without any painkillers at hand, and without the need to reboot every 10 minutes.
To show the world that a whole day (or a week) is not necessarily to install and configure a computer.
To show wintel users that how easy it actually is to install and configure an OS (and Apps on top) and that you can actually configure it to your own need !

And the list could be a lot longer and infact may not be just for wintel users...

Jerry

Well.... where is this ?
Does the cam stand in your appartment, next to the window ?
there're certainly some work being done in the street, but nothin' exciting though.

Err, there's a woman down there, dressed in blue and pink, whom has been sitting idle for the last past 20 minutes.
A shame.

Ahem... maybe i should go back to work myself.....

@Ashitaka

No sadly

The camara, (if memory serves me correctly) is on a window somewhere to the left of Gibraltar's Telephone Exchange.

It is overlooking the main town square, just above the picture and out of sight is the main shopping street, called Main Street.

Sadly I am in dreary old London. But I wish I lived back in Gibraltar

oh well

Whoops! I think all the traffic from here has overloaded the webcam server, it has come to a halt now!

Where's Jurassic Camper when you need him???
