I know that other people will see this differently, but it seems I'm going to be out of the AmigaOne loop for a while longer. I cancelled my µA1-C order today after nearly 3 weeks of run-around. I know other people waited longer, but I simply can't justify that kind of business practice. Here's how it's supposed to work...

1) Find desired product and order

2) Receive valid confirmation of order and tracking information
( optional: verify payment online )

3) Wait for product to arrive
( optional: track product delivery online )

4) Receive product and enjoy

Barring courier mishandling, anything other than that is just poor service and a disregard for customer satisfaction. If some other dealers would actually pick up the phone, I could have placed another order today, but even that is proving impossible.

So until I can verify that somebody actually has a µA1-C and can actually ship it to me, I'm going back to sitting on the fence.

Yeah, it's pretty much BS. It's NOT a 'custom built' item, which means there's little excuse.

I don't know who you orderd it through, although you might want to post that info, your call...

I'd highly recommend emailing Gunne @ GSS-Data or Kurt at RevancheLLC. Both of them have been honest and upfront, and I really have no intentions on going anywhere else as long as I can get what I need from either, including if the XC ever sees light.

If you've got to, shipping from GSS-Data actually isn't bad (a few days) and pricing is comparable to purchasing in the US..

On the off chance that something indeed has gone terribly wrong with this order, I'm not going to post any names. Some people have great luck with some dealers.. others don't. I will say that the respone emails from the dealer were timely, but they lacked any real information, which made the deal feel shady. Also, being told it shipped, but never having my account charged for the part just doesn't jibe.

I don't mind the time, as long as I'm informed. I actually visited the GSS-Data website today but their listing of a µ-A1C was 9590 SEK which is ~$1350 US. Maybe that was for a complete system, I probably didn't read it thoroughly.

That's about what I paid for my complete system from SoftwareHut. Maybe you should look into them...

I can understand your frustration, but why you don't change the dealer instead to renouncing to purchase your AmigaOne ?

That's a complete system, although I really dig their
Mini system for $1249USD here: http://tiw-pro.web.internet.telia.com/~1698137/datorlador/mini.html

You can toggle their pricing to USD btw...their price on a uA1-C is $894USD. Shipping IIRC was < $50 USD with 3-4 days or so in transit or better. Not bad at all.

Why not shoot Gunne an email and see if any are in stock, or Kurt?

I think it time to start a failed AmigaOne purchasers club (I can see to others without even getting up from my desk at work).

Price is marginally higher from what I can tell, $936 for uA1-C board.

Although what's with(price in Euros):
Quote:

microA1-mk2 G3 750FX @ 800 Mhz 690
256 Mb and Radeon 7000 onboard - MarkII version
Mini-ITX form factor. Include AmigaOS4.0

microA1-mk2 - 512 G3 750FX @ 800 Mhz 750
512 Mb and Radeon 7000 onboard - MarkII version
Mini-ITX form factor. Include AmigaOS4.0

microA1-C G3 750FX @ 800 Mhz 718
256 Mb and Radeon 7000 onboard - C version
Mini-ITX form factor. Include AmigaOS4.0

microA1-C - 512 G3 750FX @ 800 Mhz 778
512 Mb and Radeon 7000 onboard - C version
Mini-ITX form factor. Include AmigaOS4.0

Can someone explain the difference between a 'microA1-mk2' and a microA1-C ????

Note- above list also claims 750FX CPU, so as nearly always, another Amiga dealer with out of date wbe site, or are they now back to FX CPUs?

it seems Vesalia has no plans on getting more motherboards either....there is orders pending and they have been pending for quite a while now...

i wonder what the '''' is up ...

i think you should go for the company's that has em in stock , i can warmfully recomend soft3 , ggsdata and gurumeditation in europe...as for the usa i dont know except for software hut but its like 3 years since i shopped from them now..

cheers and good luck

MK2 is the devboards which where sold to developers , it holds a FX chip.

Mk3 with FX (µa1 C) seems to be around too , most likely they came before the GX (like The MK2 FX boards).

This seems very unprofessional. The dealer should at least tell you why you
have to wait and an estimation of how long.

Buying a new Amiga can be quite a big step for many people and once one
decides to do the deal then you end up having trouble even getting hold of one.

Very unprofessional indeed. Business can be run better than that, there are no
excuses. I start to worry for my own order that I will place soonish, in a couple of
months or so.

Ahh, I didn't know there were 'dev boards' for the micros. Thanks!

I'd be surprised if they still had micros with the FX CPUs though?

Any idea what the difference between the mkii and uA1-C was/is?

the devboards where announced first (prototypes).

differences? , the word proto should say it all i guess... same board just that mk3 made it to the commerical public.
regarding fx....no idea.
