| Computer City in the Netherlands has both the XE and the MicroA1-C in stock!
I ordered my micro from there and received it a couple of days after they received the money.

| We should have some kind of ranking list of all the Amiga dealers so that they have to work harder for their reputation.

Can someone explain the difference between a 'microA1-mk2' and a microA1-C ????
Note- above list also claims 750FX CPU, so as nearly always, another Amiga dealer with out of date wbe site, or are they now back to FX CPUs? |
Thanks for reporting the typo in the english page, on the italian page, and on the detail page (H E R E) you can find it's reported a GX cpu (there is a PDF file about the GX cpu as well) The mk2 board comes with a FX cpu.
About availability, microA1-C and XE boards are all sold out. We expect to have a new batch of microA1-C boards within 2-3 weeks.

That's my plan samo79, I was calling around today. I'd gladly order from anyplace that actually has them, and the more good things I hear, the more comfortable I feel with trying GGS Data. |

| It's patently insane when you can't buy something as simple as a motherboard. Call dealer, order board, board arrives, build system, install OS.
Wait, this is Amiga-Land where it's : call dealer, order board. Wait. Wait, wait, wait wait. Six months later, no board. Give up in frustration. Call another dealer. Order board. Wait. Wait, wait. Board arrives. OS won't install, license was given to someone else. Post on message boards. Get sniped at by developers. Finally get an answer. Install OS. Oops, board is fundamentally broken. Get board repaired, find out repair work voided warranty.
Throw board in garbage, write off as insurance, buy four new PCs for the price, install WinUAE on each of them and never look back.

I think it was the board that they were testing on industrial customers before deciding that they needed two designs (rev 3=µA1-C & rev 4=µA1-I). So I suppose some of the industrial versions features are available on the rev 2 board. Don't know which though, but wasn't the card slot on the rev 2 as well?!

If that is any example of how to deal with people here, all I can say is that I like your style!

In all fairness, there are serious problems in the American distribution channels. I can say from my own experience that there are problems, but I can also say that there are some dealers who appear to "stand out" as doing a better job. I've expressed my personal opinions to Polygon in a P.M.

I've bought a lot of things from GGS-data, included my A1-XE. All I can say, is that Gunne provides good service, and is very service minded. _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff! |

All I can say to that one is: 1. Do a search. 2. You DID read the topic name didn't you? 3. You DO want him to get one, don't you?
'nuff said on that.
Polygon, go with GSS-Data or RevancheLLC. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??! |

Hehe well my current PC is about 3 years old now and during that time I have upgraded the CPUS once from AthlonMP1800 to AthlonMP2800 and RAM from 512MB to 1.5GB (and still have room for another 2GB’s of RAM) I do not plan to replace it for another year.
As for being stable I reboot about once a month to install updates and I can’t rember the last time windows crashed, but Apps like WinUAE and games do crash some times.
As for spyware well I do have Windows XP Pro installed which uses product activation and I for one consider product activation and spyware to be the same thing.

| I can't tell you how disconcerting it is to hear about the A1 delivery woes. It must have something to do with the A1 being released at a trickle. It's really put me off being an earlier adopter.
Hopefully the situation will change when a completed AOS4 and Amiga themed A1 case is available and they'll start to release the A1 proper. It just doesn't feel like it's ready yet. I guess I'll have to wait until it's all done afterall.
Ok. Going back to my happy place now. _________________ Leo Nigro, CTO Commodore USA, LLC Opinions expressed are my own and not those of C= USA. Commodore/AMIGA "Beautiful, High-Performance, Home Computers for Creativity and Entertainment." |
