@Condor

I presume you have a Cybervision 64 (or 64/3D) or Cybervision PPC graphics card installed?

If so you need the CVision videmonitor module installed in the Devs:Monitors drawer before the Cybervision screen modes are displayed in screenmode prefs.

The drivers & software fror Cybervision64, 64/3D, & PPC can be downloaded from the following website:- http://amiga.resource.cx

Cybergraphx V3 can be downloaded from Aminet on the following:-

http://ftp.uni-paderborn.de/aminetbin/find?cybergraphx

Cybergraphx V4 can still be purchased from several suppliers eg http://www.amigakit.com

and a free update to version 4.2 is available for download from Aminet.

Hope this helps.

TrevorDick

@TrevorDick
Thanks for replay.
Yes I have CyberVision PPC, and monitor drivers CVisionPPC in devs:monitors.
AmigaOS boot in VGA mode (1024x768,24bit), but system don't "see" installed GFX board. If I set screen mode to PAL,save and reboot I can't use CVisions modes any more. (Only PAL and NTSC is available in screen mode prefs). Only I can do Is to copy last env:sys where is screenmode set to CVision. (Then again amiga boot on GFX).
Another thing, when I run WB on PAL monitor and then click on CVision from devs:monitors, VGA monitor turned on with Cybergraph logo, and again I cant select any GFX modes, only PAL and NTSC.
Help!!!!!

I think your list with screenmodes for the Cybervision is missing or empty.
On a Picasso96 system, this file is called "Picasso96Settings" and is located in Devs:. It lists the settings for each resolution and colourdepth. Cybergraphics has something like that as well, but I can't remember what it is called as it is a long time ago since I last used Cybergraphics.

Try to make some new screenmodes with the screenmode editing tool that comes with Cybergaphics and save them. If that doesn't work you may have to reinstall Cybergaphics or remove the CGX stuff and install P96 instead (P96 is on the OS 3.9 CD).

Kind regards,

Dennis

i know this problem,
if you go to prefs>screenmodes you probably do not see cvision ppc screen modes,
only pal/NTSC modes (AGA)
In other words the cvision ppc does not appear to be there.

i had the very same problem with my A4000 (CSPPC 060+233 ppc+cvision PPC+OS3.9 bb2 installed and the newest CGX drivers)
Altough i had the newest drivers&cgx updates it still did not work.
Then i woke up in the middle of the night with the golden idea!

I updated the 68060 libs and CGX magicly started to work!
If u like, i have the latest 68060+68040 libs on my hd (if i remember correctly 46.7 is the newest)

if you have 68060+68040 version 43.x or lower CGX wil not work at all, it has something to do with cgxsystem.library and bb1 or bb2 for OS3.9
send me a p-mail with your mail adress and i will mail you the needed library's as
soon as i get home from work behind my miggy :D

Grtz,

edit: i will upload the lib's to aminet also later on, there is no download form internet available at all

@Condor

Sorry, I've just corrected the link to the drivers page (Amiga.resource). It now works

I don't have a Cybervision PPC graphics card installed in my towered A4000. My set-up is based on PPC 604e/060 with a Cybervision 64/3D graphics card and Cybergraphx 4.2. I also have a Cybervision PPC graphics card but I never installed it, because it did not allow draggable screens! (how sad is that).

I presume you have the Cybervision PPC user's manual? If not a users/installation manual (in English & German) can also be downloaded from the Amiga.resouce website.

Check the installation manual on page 28 (english) to ensure all that all the software and drivers are installed in the correct location.

Then check page 29 for the Environment variables & tool types setting.

Then use the CGXMode ulity to set up your monitor definitions (page 32)

good luck!

That sounds like an easy way to check if there are some screenmodes defined.

Kind regards,

Dennis

@Framiga

Oh, wait. I thought "CyberVision.card" was for the CVPPC. It is for the original CyberVision board, ofcourse. Sorry about that.

But there is a P96 driver for the CVPPC somewhere. OS4 needs it.

Kind regards,

Dennis

@VooDoo

When I start CGXmode in monitor spec. bar write Belinea 105076.
On left side in Board List I see CVisionPPC.
In middle of screen is ModeList bar with many modes like.
8Bit 320x240
8Bit 640x480
.
.
15/16
.
.
24Bit 1024x768

Buttons Info,Save are ghosted.

When I dblclick on any resolution modes, and again click on test, window popup with Can't open test screen!.

ScreenMode settings showing only PAL and NTSC modes.
And all that I see on WB 1024x768 24Bit.

libs:
68060.lib.. 46.7
cybergraphics.lib 42.0
cgxsystem 42.0
cgxbootpic.lib 42.0
devs:monitors/PAL,NTSC,CVisionPPC
prefs:presets/monitors/with many monitors freq. and types, one of is Belinea 105076.
What else I can do?
Thanks

@Framiga

I can't update with this link above (I buy only A4000 without any cd or disk).
CVisionPPC have icon and tooltype:
BITMAPCHACHE=YES
BOOTLOGO=YES
PACKED24=YES
PASSTHROUGH=YES
SCROLLMASK=YES

Huh? You've got a CybervisionPPC card which you've never tried and you're still using a Cybervision 64? The difference is huge!

Why don't you give the CyberPPC a go? Much more modern chipset, and the bus (a PCI implementaion IIRC) is shared by the PPC CPU...

BTW I'm using CGX4.2 on a BVision and I'm sure there's an option somewhere to have draggable screens...

No. Dragging screens on a BVisionPPC and CyberVisionPPC isn't supported at all due to the limits of the Permedia 2.

Draggable screens don't work with the BVision, sadly.

I'm wondering which limits you mean, because the Permedia2 is a much better chip than the Virge chip in the CVision64 - or does it the Virge chip have some features that were not included in later chips, i.e. better 2D support (although the screenbuffer modes are higher res and higher bpp in Permedia2 partly because of more memory, partly because it's newer ).
