You've got a CybervisionPPC card which you've never tried and you're still using a Cybervision 64?

It's a long story. Way back when Phase 5 was alive I had a nice stable towered A4000 with a Cyberstorm 060/050 accelerator and a Cybervision 64 graphics card. I upgraded to a Cyberstorm PPC with SCSI i/f and a Cybervison 64/3D graphics card. All was well in my Amiga world. I ordered a nice new Cybervision PPC graphics card from Pase 5 but before it arrived my A4000 cratered taking the PPC board with it. I send the PPC board back to Phase 5 in Germany for repair. The Cybervision 64/3D went to Eyetech (yes!) for repair. I ordered a new A4000 motherboard from Analogic. Unfortunately about 5 days after I sent my PPC board to Phase 5 they went bust! I never retrieved the board (long story). I eventually got my system back up and running using the Cyberstorm 060/050 and repaired 64/3D card. It was nice and stable and I never installed the Cybervision PPC graphics card. Over the years I used my A4000 less and almost drifted away from the Amiga scene!

However the development of OS4.0 and the release of the AmigaOne re-kindled my interest. I purchased a Cyberstorm PPC board off ebay and installed it in the A4000 running OS3.9. The system is stable and relatively fast. Then there's draggable screens

I might be tempted to install the cybervision PPC graphics board one day? Perhaps when OS4.0 is released for Classic PPC Amiga's

Yup, I recently upgraded from a CV3D/64 to a BVision and ain't looked back once! (well only for the lack of native Amiga screenmodes), but they are coming through my CV anyway scan doubled.

My set-up is based on PPC 604e/060 with a Cybervision 64/3D graphics card and Cybergraphx 4.2. I also have a Cybervision PPC graphics card but I never installed it, because it did not allow draggable screens! (how sad is that).
Huh? You've got a CybervisionPPC card which you've never tried and you're still using a Cybervision 64? The difference is huge!

Why don't you give the CyberPPC a go? Much more modern chipset, and the bus (a PCI implementaion IIRC) is shared by the PPC CPU...

BTW I'm using CGX4.2 on a BVision and I'm sure there's an option somewhere to have draggable screens...

I understand your concern, but without testing it myself with CybervisionPPC card in my setup, I can only speculate about its features compared to the older model you're using. It might indeed offer more modern capabilities worth exploring if available options for screen manipulation are limited on BVision and CGX4.2.
