Hi,

I successfuly install the latest kernel, but I have some problems.

First I had to try severals times to succeed loading KDE (complete
freezing of my A1).

I don't have sound now and no internet connexion.

Hello,

Yes, several other people are reporting freezing aswell.

The solution to sound and internet connection problem is due to the fact you haven't loaded the kernel modules.

At cmd prompt, type

modconf

Then select your nic and sound card!

I have that problem too, one thing I don't understand...

I have installed the /lib/modules and put the .img to the /boot, what
should I do with the 2.4.26 directory that came with the "kernekhd.img"?
Maybe it's why I have the unresolved errors.

Is the BusID wrongly? Which Bus ID has to be registered there? I have a Ati Radeon 7000 with 64 Mb DDR-Ram in my AmigaOneXe.

is it possible for you to link and name the kernel and modules differently so that we dont overwrite existing modules ?
for instance current Ross modules dir is 2.4.26, same as yours but I bet their are not identical so that is why I am asking.
Is your 2.4.26 to be run with DMA ?

using latest 2.6.8 right now but did not try dri nor agp (I have an ATI radeon 7500)

I had the same problem with the last 2.4.26 kernel uploaded a couple of weeks ago. It's what I'm using now, but other than those errors, it works pretty well. Sound is a bit fussy -- it works only when it wants to -- but DMA works fantastically!

Hi PegXlin. I did a "dd if=/cdrom/kernelhd.img of=/dev/hdb1", moved the modules manually into the /lib/modules/2.4.26 directory and did a "dd if=/cdrom/2.6.8a1 of=/boot/2.6.8a1". I am also getting the uresolved symbols error message with the updated modules. Most are now disabled and unavailable. Can't even get the ethernet port recognized when doing "pppoeconf". Please advise.

I think you are confusing yourself.

I assume your /dev/hdb1 is the boot partition for linux?

Are you using 2.6.8 or 2.4.26r1?

Then do as follows for 2.6.8

1. boot your old working kernel into your linux system

2. copy the my kernel modules to /lib/modules/2.6.8dma

3.Then dd if=/cdrom/2.6.8a1 of=/dev/hdb1 and copy this image to /boot (just incase)

Then do as follows for 2.4.26r1

1. boot your old working kernel into your linux system

2. copy the my kernel modules to /lib/modules/2.4.26

3.Then dd if=/cdrom/kernelhd.img of=/dev/(another free partition?not the same as kernel2.6.8) and copy this image to /boot (just incase)

I reconfigure xorg so that DRI is active and modconf for agpgart and agp-articia, reboot and here is the dmesg output :

then I checked whether 3D was working with glxinfo :
