@AmigaBlitter
Thank god for that! Now you've posted that sentence, they can finally unite! Years of bitter rivalry, lawsuits, dirty business, mud-flinging and insults are washed away by your brilliant sentence.

If only it were that easy..

Several of those companies don't actually want to resurrect the Amiga.

Indeed, Just look at the various dirty tricks against each others !
IMHO, the only one really working for the Amiga Community and to give it a future is Hyperion !

Who cares if the "platform" survives? I just want AmigaOS to survive. I don't care what platform it resides on. Genesi does, but they don't care if any specific OS survives. They would only make sense as a possible parts supplier, not as a partner, they share no common goals with Hyperion.

Impossible: way too much ego, stubborned, plus they went as far as insulting each other.

But if they had any sense of reason and a little bit of businness knowledge I don't think we would have Hyperion working 5 years to re-invent the wheel (ie.: what MOS-Team did 4 years before), yes.

Not to mention the hardware... which is exactly the same again.

Today we would have MorphOS (name it MorphOS or AmigaOS, or whatever), far more advanced than it is now, and with some cool 3D apps ported by Hyperion, with nice ideas proposed/developed by Hyperion as well,... everything running on Pegasos2 (call it Pegasos, AmigaOne,... whatever).

But, you know what ? It was too easy. It was too reasonnable. And the most important thing: both parts should have made concessions... can you imagine that ?

Leo.

All the company mentioned before have tried or still trying to make money getting a piece of cake that is not yet come out from the oven. Just like the thousand of linux distribution try to get a pie of the market of this not yet ready os.

@AmigaBlitter

You forgot "Merlancia" in your list of companies. That would make things a bit more realistic.
