| HAHAHAHAHA - I just put a deposit down on a Smart Roadster MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
There was an MG TF going for just over £8K but I couldnt fit in it. There was a Smart Roadster and for some freakish reason I can fit in it. It's not the fastest, but it's sooo much fun. It also does 55mpg combined, so its green too!
I didnt get the chance to have a proper test drive today, but the deposit is refundable, so I'm going to have a proper test drive tommorow... just some other dude was sniffing round it, and it was the only way I could stop him from getting his mits on. It's from a private firm... I paid a trip to a rather large firm and they tried to sell me stupid finance and wouldnt give me the real price.. so me being me told the salesman he was "full of ####".... 3 sales men appeared from nowhere and began to crowd me.. so I walked off to the exit and they all followed me out... was a bit odd. Anyhow - this is what I MAY be getting... as I could be sensible and get a brand new boring car for the same money:

But totally in Black
Edit cos link was huge...

Lovely car. You'll get all the girls with this thing |

I'd probably get dumped when changing gear... in a car this small you got to be on good terms, and have no personal space issues with your passenger |

You're right T_Bone, it's kinda small for a car.

They are fantastic cars, but alas I cant fit in them, plus I'd only be able to afford a 1997 model.. I wouldn't be able to afford the servicing, road tax, or insurance. Unless my numbers come up tonight hehe - then I'd pay to have my torso shortened, and buy a new one! |

It's like fishing, anything you catch beyond what you can carry is a wasted fish. You got to be prepared for the big catch, because nobody wants to spend their whole life telling the "one that got away" story over and over till geriaietry about how two fish bit the hook at the same time and you had to throw them both back because your fishing license only allows one fish ride back with you!
(Oh the story! If I could relive my teens I wouldn't have gotten that MC!!!!)

It would be even worse if she was driving, and reached for the gear stick...
I seem to remember, some decades ago, when the miniskirt came about, it heightened the risk of car accidents!
Get the miniskirt-wearer to drive the car... make sure it's got more than one foot pedal. "Accidentally" drop something under the dashboard, and say, "I'll get it!"
...well, not if she's wearing a G-string._________________ SEX SUX

I doubt anyone can afford the fuel to stick in that thing!!
What Car gives it top marks, but warns that you’ll be on first-name terms with local petrol station!

I think on new Cars it's standard VAT of 17.5%
On Second hand goods you are not permitted to charge VAT - it's one of the reasons why a car's value can depriciate so rappidly here.
For example, I can spend £9K on a brand New Corsa, but if I buy the previous years model, second hand (but same car) - I should be able to pick one up for 6K |

| The aspect of car driving that makes the concept unattractive, to me, is the fact that the body leans the WRONG way during cornering!

| Ok, so I went to test drive it, but they couldn't get her going. So they offered me a ride in the Coupe' version
The Coupe' is identical in every way to the Roadster - the roof retracts exactly the same, the engine is the same, and the cabin is the same.
However the back of the car flows down, instead of being an abrupt line - for me this made all the difference as it made the cabin feel bigger, even though it is in fact the same size. It was much much better - I felt free, when in the other I felt a tad cramped.
I took her for a spin - the garage owner let me take her by myself. Went up through the lanes, and down onto the M4. She has a semi automatic gear box which took some getting used to, but I eventually got it and the car flew. She sounds so fantastic!!! It's soooo much fun. I'm going to get this model - however, they only have brand new ones in stock.. I cant afford that yet. But they are going to keep me posted, and expect to have one in this week....
So hopefully
Muhahahahaha
Edit -
Same car as above

but with this back.
