@BigD

Because the PeeCee won and you can get a Corei5 with 8 GB of RAM and 240 GB SSD for the Price of an A500 Mini where you could run Linux and AxRuntime on it.. Sp you can have a Computer Ferrari for the Fraction of actual BS Amiga Prices!

And I am frustrated with actual "Amiga Devekioment"!

Actually I am not sure where to put my "Amiga Money Budget" in because I am unsatisfied with the Scene!

This is almost arcane alchemy at work:

Only friend BigD, who is notoriously incapable of making much sense,
could manage to get friend Qbit, who usually mostly rants about voices in his head and imaginary women,
to make sense.

Beautiful.

@MEGA_RJ_MICAL

To be honest, BigD and Qbit are good illustrations on how far the amiga community has fallen.
In the bad old days we would have Templario, Dark Basic/whatever, and really messed up people like Wizzard_O (who was a poor shadow of turbo-crazy Steve Giovanella)
Or Helge, it was a complete 3-ring circus back in the day. And the day Helge got a perm for wildly inappropriate posts still lives on in memory. lol.

For sure BigD and Qbit whom you have issues with are a little annoying but just ignore them.
Compare them to the giants that came before them and you will see how far amiga community has fallen. Not even the trolls measure up any more. Everything Amiga is now low effort.

@V8

I think all the demos from Revision 2022, was OCS demos, I don’t think there was any AGA demos, you can forget about SAGA or RTG demos, for years saying the same thing, DEMO codes, don’t make demos for users, they make demos for small club in demo scene. Vampire/AROS/OS4/MOS won’t change that, this is not a problem with the hardware, its the problem with the mindset of people who make software/games and demos.

Many of demos are not even made on Amiga, a lot of this are made in demo creation tools on PC. Some of the demos as become mass produced, with same effects year after year.

@NutsAboutAmiga

Why is this a problem?
The people that actively develop demos for amiga target the original platform?
And that is a problem why?

Wouldn't the problem be : Why is no one developing demos (or software) for NG?
Instead of asking this question you dogwhistle about people spending their own time and hobby to develop for OCS.

Why is this a problem?

It is a hobby, people work on what they want. I still write software for PS2. I give zero shits about people that say "why not develop for PS4"

Why is people working on OCS demos a problem?
Maybe they just like to work on OCS and its limitations?

EDIT: was it you that used to have licence clauses on the form of "this is open source but you are not allowed to port to aros or morphos" ? Was that you?

You talk to Mega Violent Ken like he is an upstanding member of the community when the reality is he just shouts Zorram every so often while seemingly driving others to mental illness. No hard feelings but to claim I'm a troll in this situation is pretty far fetched! Maybe I should start telling out Amiga products in block Caps to be accepted as 'reasonable' in your eyes?

PRISMA MEGAMIX!!! AaARGH!!!!!!!

Hey. He _is_ an upstanding member of the community and he is my manager. He pays me to post here because it triggers you. I will never betray him.

If I disagree with Mega I would not do this publicly on a board and instead talk to him about my disagreements during the bi-weekly one-on-one calls we have.

Nope, any way found some open-source demos on github, I see if make some of this more system friendly.

Ok, sorry about that I misremembered.

Anyway, don't waste time on demos, take this and build a filesystem driver so that amiga can finally use a version of SMB from this century :
https://github.com/sahlberg/libsmb2

It even compiles on ESP32 so getting it to run on an unexpanded A500 should be trivial.

Well, the ESP32 has probably better TCP/IP stack then we have, its not about hardware, its about legacy and lack of deep understand required to update it all, also agreement on what is a tread and how they should work, also issue of black boxes of undefined structs, no way of make workaround because knows the internals of for example how new lib work, I’m sure I forgot something about signals, the build process also has 50/50 chance of failure, why I don’t even try to mess around ports. I guess some that has improved with Andrea’s heroic attempt to replace CLIB2.

*lol*

That's simply the Anti Amiga, the complete opposite of the Amiga 1000.
You can get PeeCees with better Specs @ any refurbisher for 100€ and run Windows 10, Linux or any other Virtual Machine on them.
The Anti Amiga just dosen't thrill the Market so that many people or kids would do anything or sell their innocent souls to the devil just to get one like the Amiga 1000 did! Or even let the Complete Market go nuts and want to be like the whole Invention the Amiga 1000 was!

The Amiga 1000 hit the Market like a creativity Bomb!

All Computers of today are Amiga CLONES!

Maybe the Amiga Inventions were too Powerful so that Commodore had to be destroyed to make the Computer World of today!

The Amigas of today are secret Quantum Computers and AI Technology where you have to apply first to get it!

@QBit

The poster asked specifically for information about AmigaOne, which I supplied.

If he's interested in alternatives, I'm sure he'll inquire about those.
