@Rogue

I have just been saying that over and over in the comments for the past two AmigaOS articles and am starting to feel like I am being ignored so god knows how you must feel

@EntilZha

What about the clause in the contract that was mentioned a long time ago which allows you to continue the OS without the other 2 Amiga partners? I understand that you cannot go into specifics, or maybe even comment at all but is there any chance that it can be used to sort this problem out?

@broadblues

because I have not been following the forums of late due to work so there could have been an Eyetech related discussion which I missed which is why I put Quote:

@Thom_Holwerda

I propose that before you write an article you might want to investigate the facts behind what you write. As I tried to point out (multiple times already) there is no way that Hyperion "can pull their head out of the sand" (or whatever term you like to use). If you think there should be a Pegasos (or x86, for the matter) port of AmigaOS, I propose you (try to) contact Amiga Inc about it.

Thank you very much.

@alx

the editorial seems to acknowledge the problems but not whose fault they are/why they are there. It is not Hyperion but Amiga Inc that are at fault for the lack of alternative hardware and there is little Hyperion can do about it.

Would it make a big difference if Amiga Inc. agrees on a Pegasos-port? The "Who is going to pay EUR 20k for the porting" question would still need to be resolved.

What? I conldn't hear you! BTW: Why there's no Pegasos port? :-O

Sorry, couldn't resist.

BTW: hope you guys don't mind OS4 (I know, I know it's not up to you, just from technical point of view) on Efika?

Post #17 from Amiga Inc.
http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=1689&forum=4

After reading this, pay particular note to the last paragraph:
Quote:
This is the final, definitive comment on AmigaDE and AmigaOS4.0 concerning third parties and OEMs having it ported to their hardware. If you read anything else, it is not true and you should report it to us and the parties are mis-representing Amiga Inc in public.

IMHO, it's rather, sad, tired, and definately has that "Been there and seen it before" factor.

Another case of Opinions dressed up as facts.

Ho Hum

@Rogue

I am well aware that it's not only up to you guys whether there will be a pegasos port or not!

Its just that the entire situation seems a little hopeless at times, but I'm sure we will see better times ahead.

well once Amiga Inc say it can be done initial work can be done without fear of wasting effort and a backer is more likely to come forward/be found

@Mikey_C

This article is in "Sunday Eve" column of OSNews. To quote:

Quote:
The Sunday eve column will be exactly what the name implies. Every Sunday eve (Central European Time) I will publish a short editorial column in which I address various issues and matters about topics we cover on OSNews. However, please remember the difference between a editorial column and a true article: columns are heavily opinionated. Heavily.

So, you see, that's the whole point of it.

that doesn't mean it can ignore facts and twist the truth. I suspect this is simply lacking research, note how Thom says he has no Amiga experince

Do not mistake lack of insight for genius (to paraphrase a note on the cover of Bloody Kisses by Type O Negative )

He clearly has the best intentions, but we all know what the road to hell is paved with.

@opi

Yes, but what's the point of it? It serves absolutely no purpose.

I could come on Amigaworld, post some rubbish about how AROS is crap, useless, not gonna go anywhere etc. (No, I am not saying that it is etc)

Or how pathetic Apple are for having gone x86

I mean, what's the point? it's neither informing nor helpful. In truth, it's a waste of bandwidth and serves the Amiga community no useful purpose at all. Just makes things worse.

So no one in the world should express his opinion, because it serves no purpose? Then what purpose does your opinion that my opinion serves no purpose serve?

Yeah you need to read that line 2 times.
