ok.. since you are obstinate.. here it is..

please read README.AMIGA just to be clear..

Ok.. new features..

1) An AREXX port that is useful with new Daniel's Gui
2) Support for WMV (don't need to be repetitive. ok?)
3) Many endianess bug fixed on many formats (like MOV and NSV)
4) Full internet streaming
5) A menu on video screen (only when is in window mode)
6) The video driver now scale movies correctly (except for 16:9 one when in fullscreen..)
7) Last CSV changes
8) Compiled with newlib 4.0.2
9) surely other things i forgot now..

** IS SLOWER THAN PREVIOUS **

if you want try to don't scale the movie (using the menu) and press a "left" key to resync it..
If you don't see WMV3 please remove your old codecs.conf (mplayer can work without it too..)

MPlayer Links

Edit: wrong link

@afxgroup

Thanks for releasing this!

However, no matter what file format (MPG, MOV, WMV, AVI) I try to view through this, I get a lot of recoverable alerts before MPlayer gets Grimmed.

@afxgroup

I don't get this question with G3 or G4 really.

Does MPlayer on Mac have problems with either G3 or G4?
Is this a problem within the original source of MPlayer?
Altivec option in GCC doesn't seem to disturb other software AFAIK.

Could you explain this a bit?

Great work btw!

@afxgroup

if your just type mplayer in a shell like this

2.RAM Disk:mplayer> mplayer

It changes the shell/ANSI color of the currsor without changing back

and it seams you forget to free some stuff

***Command 'mplayer' returned with unfreed signals 1C000000!

@afxgroup

Hmm, ok, i do know that this is an experimental version, so i'm not sure if you
accept bug reports/feature requests for it...

...i'll try anyway

1. I still get massive pixelated gfx glitches on .wmv's (fullscreen or window)

The file can be obtained here (~17 MB)

2. .wmv's with higher revision, seems to only replay sound through SDL, not
through AHI (ahi or ahi_dev) - tested again with the above file (wmv 9)

3. Feature request: wmv's which only replay sound/music doesn't show a window
(of course) which makes it hard upto impossible to close or break them. Can you
add something to actually see there is replay going on and the possibility to
break it or show me the way how to do it?
Test file can be obtained here (~21 MB)
(Monkey Island 2 monkey playing some pieces from the game)

Oh and i can't really make out bad slowdowns, it seems as fast as MPlayer beta5
That is on G3@800Mhz
edit: Well, ok, it seems fullscreen doesn't match up with sound on long movies,
but i remember having this on earlier versions aswell, so no hassle

Great work

Thanks Andrea

AHI and AHI_DEV are not present in this version. You can use ONLY SDL as audio output

I'll try that files when i go home

Oh, ok, i thought i might have broken something

I can provide you one more file with this gfx garbage, was in an AW.net thread
some time ago, the little skeleton (~19MB)

Thanks for checking

i've seen with Windows Media Player that video is codec with Windows Media Video V8 (so WMV2). This lib has not been updated sice MPlayer #5 so you see the movie in the same way.
You must test Windows Media Video V9 (so WMV3) to see the new codec

@afxgroup

So, WMV9 support, using vc1 reference decoder i guess (if not ignore the rest and accept my apologies) ? You are a member of SMPTE group ? Did you read the conditions ? It's said you cannot share test material, you can only use it for research, and that includes vc1 reference decoder. This decoder can only be used in SMPTE VC-1 standard conforming products.

mplayer is GPL and obviously doesn't fullfil this condition. Licenses are incompatible and thus it's illegal to release mplayer with this decoder.

You'd better remove this codec to avoid problems if someone related to SMPTE notices it (microsoft may not be as kind as gpl guys when it comes to copyright infrigement).

Anyway, this decoder is useless as-is. It's completely unoptimized, not even achieving full speed on very fast machines.

Do whatever you want, it's just an advice.

@Fab

i know but there is a native into mplayer too that crash on all platforms (i'm not speaking about the dll)
If someone ask me to remove the codec i'll do and however as you said is totally unoptimised and useless for videos that are larger than 480x320..

@afxgroup

What?! even .NSV ? :))

i didn't know mplayer could do this!
that mean we can access shoucastTV !
dozen of free internet TV in addition to the already accessible internet radio :)

another thing which is now possible with that new version is fast forward/rewind when streaming a movie over local httpd..

here i have a linux server on my intranet, with apache and it host movies among other things.
now mplayer for os4 accept to forward/rewind through it as mplayer for linux and windoz do.

well, very nice work thanks afxgroup!

now how can we *list all the available TV?
usualy i use winamp to list all the shoutcast TV, someone knows a web page that does it?

edit:
i see that in full screen it slow down a bit, i have little distorision in sound, and the video isn't flowing nicely but show some little slow down every 1or 2 sec.
(g4@800mhz / radeon7000 / 512mb of ram/ os4pre4)
but in window mode it seems better. less slow down it seems.
and it's very little slowdowns anyway, movies are still watchable..

@afxgroup

i tryed thi:

mplayer -quiet -framedrop http://67.159.11.250:9500;stream.nsv
it's working on linux and windoz

mplayer output from os4
output from mplayer linux

on linux i had to add the essential codecs in /usr/lib/win32/

otherelse i was getting only sound.

the os4 output suggest VP6 codec should be added at compile time.
are thoses codec not compatible with ppc? maybe they do work only on x86 hardware?
do we have a chance to have mplayer working with shoutcast TV, supporting generaly used codecs over there?

or maybe i made a mistake it is already working ?

tnx
