'This' above, meaning which? The PV TL/G4 board? Looking at my XE, it _might_ fit with an IBM 1U style cooler or similar (copper but low profile), but you'd also need a 90* PCI riser.

Why would you bother with this board in a rack-mount case? A single G4 system in a rackmount, just doesn't do much for me anyways...

You're right.. The board is useless for small footprint server use without
anything onboard. Performance-wise it would make a very good corporate
mailserver, though.

Huh??

Dunno. Sounds like at some pooint Adam was working on 'Amy', and I guess had a pair of them?

Two fried Amy's? Huh? I didn't know that Helgis was contracted by Troika.

Well, Adam did mention using TSI 109 because it supported SMP. Seems he has a dual cpu board in mind for something, but it surely wouldn't be AmigaOS. Probably for running Linux.

Quoting from the_truth's post which in turn is a quote from the log :

Quote:

gold (Troika): Ack would you please ship the two fried Amy05's you were contracted to work on in 2005?
a1200 @ ackcontrols22: What have you done with the Amy boards you have in your possession?
ackcontrols22 @ a1200/Gold/Troka: The tsi107 based boards are around somewhere.

Read more?? There was exaclty nothing in that moobunny post of any value whatsoever. If anything, it just shows the usual suspects with their usual banter.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Sure, you're right. I agree with ironfist about s 'simple server,' and was having this discussion recently regarding PPC blades...the problem is, outside of a few more simple cases (mail, NIS, DNS, small web server), the appeal of a single or even dual G4 board at the price point mentioned, is pretty limited, when you've got another several hundred dollars or more to make it into a usable rackmount 'server.' The GigE NICs are a requirement, but adding a videa card, SATA or SCSI card, and other things make this pretty low bang for the buck, moreso when I could get a Sun x2100 for near the same price, with management/LOM, and I expect, shortly the new (better power mgmt) Opterons..

The thread on Moobunny is actually quite insightful.
I was also wondering because of the badmouthing of ACK by gold/Troika/A1200 that I read in the script.

Very pathetic, this tells a lot about Troika...

Not sure whether you are thinking this reference is to (1) person or (3) people.
It is actually (2) people being referred to, as has been stated previously.

Well, since I have no idea what real name is behind those IRC-nicknames of Troika (gold, Troika, ...), how could I know how many people it actually is? From what I heard, Troika are using multiple IRC-names, so...
Btw, there are even 4 nicknames listed in the post I linked to.

Ok, if you say so... Or let's just settle for "Troika & co".

edit: clarified

@hatschi

Here are some posts (public information) that might help you in your quest:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=16007&forum=33
Note posts #1 and #7.
Then try post #77 here.
Refer to previous line and post #1.
Last post by the Troika designer here.
Note that -he- was asked to look at the A1 problems, and not for others to look
at -his- problems, in this case.
Also note that there have been even -more- people assisting in research and
communications regarding the Troika effort.
Do we have all the resources available in the good ole' days of C=?
No. But we are not quite as crippled as the average poster seems to think.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the links, but I am not on a "quest" - the links didn't contain anything that was new to me anyways (i.e. the names Ian Stedman and Mike Parker are known to me).

now were we?

sorry you had to read that into hatschi, and you don't know the whole sad story. But I do know the parties involved have tried everything, emails, phone calls etc. to get the contracted and paid for work.

Hehe, maybe someone should put up an "investigation"-website (what about "seek the truth" ) on that. Well, it would be even better if Troika would do it themselves. Just a simple list of who is involved, with some real names, that would avoid the "mystery sphere" around them that some have mentioned already.
