As some of you know I have recently taken a step back from the frontline as it were and so I am clearing out my Amiga hardware. I don't want to sell it for a profit, I would like to see it all go to someone genuine who will really benefit from it.

So here's what I've got:

An Amiga4000, pretty stock with CBM 040 CPU card, a bit yellow but no battery damage

An Amiga1200, quite nice condition, completely stock

An Amiga1200 in a Power Tower, seen better days but comes with keyboard interface etc and a ZIV busboard

An Amiga1200 with BlizzardPPC and BlizzardVision, 40GB HDD, CDRW etc etc etc. This has been my workhorse for many years and its been used daily up until 2 months ago...

All I ask is you email me, telling me why you think I should give you it, and you will need to collect.

Thanks guys!

@Ryu

I wish I was in the UK!

Anyway, just saying thanks for all the good work you have done over the past few years. I'm sure everyone here appreciates it a lot. You will still hang around on AW.net? Please don't leave -- it's getting depressing with all the people leaving. I hope any problems life is giving you will sort themselves out.

All the best.

@Ryu

I am sorry to hear this but at this point I don't blame you for stepping back from the frontlines to the sidelines. It has become increasingly difficult for Amiga user this past 2 years as hopes the final release of OS 4 was fastly approaching but the prospects of new hardware became bleak.

If you would have made this offer lets say a year ago I would have jumped at the chance to get the A1200 PPC from you without a second thought. But that was a year ago when I was also on the frontlines in anticipation of a new Amiga and Os4.

Right now I am sitting on the side lines as well no longer evangelizing my friends and co-works on the benifits of os 4 since they can't purchase anything to run it on.

I am on a holding pattern now waiting to see what will happen in three to four monts before I finally throw in the towel.

Thank you for being up there and working your heart out supporting the Os 4 and the Amiga revitilization dream.

Have you gone Radio GA GA ?

If you gonna get rid stick it all on ebay dude and keep the money in case new hardware becomes available or have a holiday or something.

Odds are you'll get tonnes of requests for the ppc machine, but its not really much use as the person thats gonna get it. They cant have your beta test partition anyway.

You'll only kick yourself if you get rid of it all.

@Ryu

Sorry to hear this.

I really like the whole idea/ethos of utilitybase and not so long ago I was even looking for a 'donate' button to show my appreciation.

I understand from a vague reference on the AmigaRevival thread that you have other priorities atm - I offer my best wishes for whatever life throws at you and hope that whatever problems or changes you need to address you have the best of luck!

As the others have indicated - do yourself a favour and put the A1200PPC and A4000 on Ebay and at least get some money.

Good luck and best wishes.

@Colin_Camper

I think you mean Intuitionbase not Utilitybase. Intuitionbase is Ryu's work.

@Ryu

I also think you shouldn't give it all away for free. Of course it's up to you. I hope you'll be back later when things are going better for you and we have new hardware for OS4.

Good luck and best wishes.

Hans

You're not leaving the platform are you? I just went to your website a couple days ago and noticed it wasn't updated as of late.

Even if all the Amigas go, as long as you keep the Amigan spirit you will always be an Amigan :)

If you have some storage, box 'em up and forget it. I did the same about 10 years ago when things were really looking bleak for the Amiga. About 6 months ago, I bough Amiga Forever 2005. That got the old passions rolling. One-by-one, I dug up my old Amigas, updating them to 3.1 ROM/3.9 OS. I even built an Amithlon. Besides my regular job as an IT manager, I design and manage websites on the side. I have figured out I can do all that on the Amithlon. I did miss the boat on the A1/OS4. But I've already asked Software Hut to put me on the list for when they become available again.

But I'm still glad I kept them. Every once in a while, I even fire up my old 1000. And yes, it still works after all these years.

Why not get some money for them at the very least?

It is very rare to find a true Amiga fan and you sir are one of them. Enjoy your break and remember you will always be welcome back.

Ryu, just stay back for a while and you'll return at some point...

At the very least, sell them and take a (well deserved) holiday. Preferably keep hold of one of them - don't just give them away, especially not the A1200PPC which would be worth a few bob on EBay.

I appreciate the hard work you have put in. If you have to leave, at least promise to check back in every now and then, ok?

Chris

I'm sorry that you had to cancel AmRevival. I had pre-booked a ticket and was looking forward to meeting up with fellow Amigans,

I am also sorry you are stepping back from the Amiga scene for the moment. I'm sure you have your reasons. As far as your amiga hardware goes I think you should keep it (in storage if you have the space). If you really want to get rid of it, sell it on ebay, you might as well get some money for it.

If you must give it away I am always looking for Amiga equipment to add to my Commodore Museum

Hey bro,

basically, what I have to say, however tempted I am about the plain 1200, is that you should either keep them in storage or sell them for a profit. Money is not free as you very well know, do not waste it like that.

All the best.

Hmm... an A1200 with BPPC and BVision is pretty neat gear. I had similar setup few years ago but sold it to get periphrelas for my Peg1 but saved my original Amiga HD. Today it would be almost impossible to have similar setup since none of those (A1200, BPPC and BVision) are made anymore. Especially working BPPC is very expensive these days, probably more worth than other Amiga stuff you have.
