NO! That's too much! I've been following the AmiRevival cancellation affair without saying a word, in the thought it was a bad moment you were going through, but that's too much. You are one of the best Amigans I know, I know you love what Amiga represents and I CANNOT believe you are really wanting to give your machines away.

I will NOT ask for any of them, and I advise everyone to do the same. PLEASE, PLEASE, take some time to rethink what you are doing, don't take any decision in the heat of the moment, it's hardly a good idea. And even after some time you still think the same, as someone else said, sell them in Amibench or eBay, you'll get some cash you can save just in case a new machine comes out. Well, with that money you could invite to some friends to drink a truck of beers as well... ;¬)

Saluditos,

Ferrán.

Yeah, I also think you should not give away your machines. I think you should not even sell your machines. Whatever phase you are going through, selling or giving away the stuff will only make you regret it in the long run.

Especially a Power Tower with a BlizzardPPC and BVisionPPC is a neat setup.

But if you really want to get rid of the stuff I would gladly pay you the postage for the above and then you may ship it of to the Netherlands. I can find a use for it.

@Ryu

I'd keep the main A1200 and probably the A4000 if I was you. You never know - the OS4 may get released and you'll need a classic alive to copy your old stuff over!

I've been in a similar position to you are now (no main Amiga use anymore) and I've been doing it since 1995. I have my old A1200, A500Plus, CD32 and A4000T in cold storage. You can still keep an interest in all things Amiga you know!

@-Sam-

Yeah, I got rid of my last Amiga in 2000 (A1200 & A1200T PPC) intending to get the new PPC Amiga when it came out. Now I don't care about the new Amiga, and the thing I'm most interested in is the Minimig! I want to play Lionheart again ...

However it is very hard to beat an A1200 + accellerator + DPaint AGA / PerfectPaint for pixel graphics. My plans for writing some mobile phone games when I get the time depend on being able to create 2D graphics, and such a setup would be ideal (with a decent mouse and display anyway, heh). I guess I'll just get Amiga Forever at some point for this task. I'm so gutted I lost all of my game graphics I ever did on the Amiga.

I take it that you have removed any nicad batteries from unused equipment.
I've received many calls from people wanting to donate their abandoned
amiga hardware who have ommitted to do this. The old batteries stay
good while machine is in daily use but die quickly if left a month or two.

Thanks for all the kind words guys... really means a lot to me

Im not leaving the scene as such, never said I was, im just taking a massive step back... Ive had so many beatings lately, both in my personal life and my amiga life that im left feeling very drained and I can't go on anymore...

Im giving away my hardware because I don't want it to sit here not being used for months on end, I would much rather it go to someone who can actually use it and hopefully put something back into the community...

Having said that I am having a real long think about what exactly I want to give away, but for certain the 4000 is going..

So if anyone is interested, please email me (notice I said email, not PM) telling me why you want it and I'll consider you

Crikey, as 2018 draws to a close, I thought I'd take a moment to look back on some of my old threads here on AW.net...

So much water under the bridge as they say. I'd even forgotten I once had an A4000!

However, what I can say with some certainty how much I have enjoyed being part of the amiga scene again in 2018 (in fact my interest has been gaining momentum for the past 3/4 years).

This year I have found myself visiting:
- The Ireland Amiga Group - Fantastic bunch of people, and look forward to visiting again in a little under 3 weeks time!
- Play Blackpool - Need i say more!
- The Greenford Computer Club in London - Against a fantastic bunch of people, a lot of cool retro systems to play on!
- The South West Amiga Group in Swindon - Felt much more like a local user group, but still very interesting
- Last but not least, the Glasgow Amiga User Group - Didn't think I'd make it this year, but really glad I did! Looking forward to attending the next meeting (fingers crossed!)

In 2019, I'm fairly committed to attend Ireland in January, The Norwich Amiga Guys and of course Amiga North Thames.

I figure I will then have visited all remaining active Amiga groups in the UK. But if I have missed any out, please let me know so I can budget them in for 2019

All that is left for me to say is, thanks all for keeping the Amiga scene alive, there are still scores of great people out there! Most way more talented than I, and I am just grateful I can still be in some way a part of the journey!

Here's to 2019!

@Ryu

I'm happy to see your interest is renewed, and I welcome you back.
Intutionbase has been good source of technical information for years.

Welcome back to "the frontline" - nice to see you getting more active again.

Maybe we'll run into each other again some day out there - what about Amiga34 in Neuss , Germany in October? Or are you strictly sticking to the UK?

Best regards,

Niiels

I would love the a4000 so I could buy new hardware and software and finally have the Amiga I have always wanted but just couldn't afford. I think your crazy to part with it. I sold my towered 060 Picasso iv A1200 and have regretted it ever since.

@nbache

Nice to see your still active Niiels :)

DE:34 is an option I’m currently looking into.

I did attend DE:32 along with NL:30 and UK:30 so would be nice to go again.
