Hi ALL!
As mentioned on topic I think we need MOS emu out NOW!
I dunno why so many probs regarding that piece of software...
I will VERY happy if I can run ShowGirls or other nice MOS apps on OS4...
And another thing to say was that users was REALLY curious about OS4emu from MOS, and will buy a Peagasos now and use OS4 emu so they will use OS4 apps even if now hw was released yet...
And not only that I see with my eyes saturday at Pianeta Amiga an OS4 user that sell his A1 to buy a Peg G4 after see MOS programs and OS4emu running DVPlayer MilkyTracker and other OS4 only apps...
So...Why so much problems to release MOS emu for OS4?
So that was my wish...Not get it as a flame!

Tuxedo.

@Tuxedo

@Tuxedo

Well, OS4Emu is not perfect. OS4 native reaction programs run pretty badly, for example. If you want to use Ambient, you can only install Classact, since OS3.5/3.9 reaction requires icon.library from os3.x, which stops ambient working with png icons etc.

Under classact, not all the gadgets in cranu work properly, and it really looks like crap. BlackWidow is completely unconfigurable, since the clicktabs simply don't appear.

I'm not entirely sure why, but HivelyTracker has serious issues running under OS4Emu, rendering it unusable under MOS.

@hnl_dk
OS4Emu itself isn't illegal, AFAIK. It doesn't contain any AmigaOS components.

No we don't, and if you think about it for a while you'll realize why.

@Frags

If all of the MOS software ran on AOS4 then developers would develop their software to run specifically on MOS since it would automatically run on AOS4 with the emulator anyway.

@Samurai_Crow

Well, OS4 programs run on MOS but developers don`t all develop for OS4. MOSemu would level the playing field.

I, for one, would like to see it, as I like to run as many OSs as possible, so the ability to run an alternate OS's software would be good. I would, of course, prefer PPC MacOS or Linux....

That would be great. Then I can run OS4Emu on MosEmu on my A1...

I personally prefer Native Programs to Emulation.

Do you want MOS Emu for only one app?

It's not illegal.

And I'm guessing the recent "newlib.library" support is probably because OS4's newlib is based upon this piece of opensource software.

Stop spreading disinformation. You'll give someone a bad reputation that they don't deserve.

@Tuxedo

My stuff is doing well. The things that work with os4emu have 68k versions and therefore don't need it.

The things (well, thing - Wet) that don't work are OS4-only. The explanation given is "It just doesn't work. Yet"

I'll tell you why it doesn't work - it uses new calls and libraries that are only available in OS4. Without some additional emulation layer (compatible API etc), it isn't going to work. Yet.

Chris

If it’s not illegal then we should make MorphOS emulator, I think OS4emu is an advantage for the MorphOS users mostly, way can’t AmigaOS4 users have the same advantage?

And they have:

* The KHTML project.
* Blender3D
* Pixel32
* Descent:Freespace 2
* Virtual Grand Prix 2
* Neverball and Neverputt

If its illegal way doesn’t Amiga Inc sue Itrix and get it over whit?
(I have nothing agents Itrix, he do not troll or anything like that, but what he is doing is tipping the scale, and it not right for competition)

Hopefully he sells his Amiga One to an Amiga developer, no one is lost in the community as computer changes hands, but for Morph OS there is +1 user.

ShowGirls is not that complicated program, there are quite few nice Image view programs already on OS4, way don’t you use one of them?

If there where MOS emulator I continue to compile my programs for OS4 API, because debug using Grim is so easy, and because if I won’t the program to work on MorphOS, I know they be well supported under OS4Emu anyway, and because emulation is always slower (even if we are taking about milliseconds), and you forget one more thing I use/develop for AmigaOS4 because I think it’s a better design form developers point of view.

It's _not_ illegal. That's why they can't sue anybody.

By the way, it's

Itix instead of Itrix
why instead of way
with instead of whit
