I think that the poll is related to console port only.
PS3 is the best choice for me.

| I want OS 4 now, but am waiting for what case Loriano/TheDaddy might release for the SAM, before I do my investment.
I don't really want to have spare mini-ITX cases lying around in my house..

That's a good choice, may not be as powerful as SAM440, but the ultra-slim design and the extremely low power consumption are very good advantages.

TThe CherryPal™ C114 desktop is about the size of a paperback book, but has the performance you would expect from a full-size desktop computer. Freescale's fast triple-core mobileGT processor delivers exceptional multimedia performance and feature-rich user interfaces, while only consuming as much power as a clock radio. CherryPal uses 80 percent fewer components than a traditional PC, and because it has no moving parts, it operates without making a sound and will last 10 years or more.

I'm not quite sure if the price is really $249.00...
But if it is - as it stands it's not a bad option altogether... _________________ Because Amiga It's not just about technology but it's also about people... |

Though with the Cherrypal you will even get worse complaints than with the SAM Board, eg not enough power bla bla bla... This things doesn't even seem to have a harddisk, have I read that correctly?
My hopes lie in the vision of enough people buying a Sam Board, leading to more affordable and powerful hardware made by ACube, and maybe one day even in a custom case again . Or this Cell processor board running Amiga OS 4 I keep dreaming about at night .

I've seen and played with the Cherrypal last CES. Trust me this is a dead end product for most of the world. Maybe an ok product for China as a starter internet box.
The one "laptop per child" was a far superior product. That's why MS got in and killed it.

think you just voted
the real question is why you would want one of these "beasts"? Most users want a nice compact system for their desktop, or is it the power the interests you?

What good is a 400 Mhz system if you want to do rendering with Blender? Or other high-performance applications?
Really, my computers are under the desk, I don't actually care whether they are compact or not as long as they do what I want. _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. Write me a mail |

No need to wait. Better buy a SAM440ep when having the money, and get the AmigaOS 4.1 for it at the same time..

I agree 68k with @Earthling or i like to see AOS4 on x86 since sam is limited hw so no point asking for ps3 port or other limited hw & why port Aos4 to ps3? to run emulated 68k apps or games since Aos4 dont even have a decent browser/office apps. or just install Aos4 to say we can run Aos4 on ps3 but nothing to run with it. 1`st get Firefox+open office +java + flash for AOS4 than AoS 4 ready as OS but right now its just a newer version of 3.9 with limited hw & i`m sure 68k amigas can run AOS4.0 without ppc cards since it just an OS without any real powerfull software.
Reason we have OS4 to give as more power to run top apps & enjoy browsing & use it as main home computer.
i have to switch on windoz pc to use firefox most times since the websites i`m trying to browse needs flash or other things(that hurts as an amigan).
Maybe we should donate Amizilla money to hyperion & plus start a another Amizilla Donation to hyperion again so we can see firefox on amiga since they done great job with aos4 & sems like they are the only people who can port the browser.
