I have been running a Cnet BBS on OS4 on my A1 for some time now and it is very stable EXCEPT when being used by modem (yes I still have modem users)

Reading some mail items will cause DSI errors and lock up the BBS, yet doing the same things via telnet cause no trouble. I just upgraded to release 4 hoping things would improve, but it hasn't

Is there anything I can do with the a1serial.device to fix this? Are there any dialup users that still use modems?

I will post the crashlog next if anyone can look at it and give me some idea what the issue is.

You updated to OS4 update4 in 2007 when OS4final was released in 2006
and are posting crashlogs of the 2005 version of OS4. Well, be assured
that the number of unfixed bugs in 2005 was higher than last Christmas,
please install OS4final and test again...

I was worried about installing OS4 final since I read in another thread that it is more demanding with old software. They are correct.

I am VERY IMPRESSED with the OS. It is fast, full featured, looks great and the icon set is beautiful, but I now get so many DSI errors that the BBS software will not run.

I have Connectline 5.0 beta something running here, but thats a special
version where I already fixed some bugs IIRC. That probably wouldnt help
you anyway because it uses ZConnect format for mail and news.

Yes, OS4 shows more bugs in old software. E.g. TrapDoor crashes when using
the debug kernel, probably it calls Remove() on a node twice or something
like that.
