My goal with this petition is a show of support towards Amiga Inc. with what I think are at least some of the concerns that are out there being stated as well. It certainly does not aim to cover everything that may be a concern. I wrote it in a manner that I hope respectfully conveys what I think many in the community feel about some of the current issues Amiga Inc. faces at the moment. I also hope that it conveys in some way how it is affecting us as consumers, consumers who wish to support Amiga Inc. through product purchases. Its goal is to be a show of hands in the community, whether that ends up being a very small number or a large one. It is not intended to take any sort of "sides" or make any assumptions about what is going on that the community may not have full details on. And its written knowing these things have probably been brought up via a number of communication methods before to Amiga in one way or another. Its again, just a simple place for a show of hands should you want to do so.

Anyway I just wanted to share its existence, do with it (or don't) as you see fit.

It is located at:

@fairlanefastback
Sadly, no interest here for a number of reasons:
1. it doesn't address directly the largest publicly perceived problem with AInc- lack of communication and followup. Making grand promises followed by disappearing acts without comment generally doesn't garner many 'fans.'

2. I don't believe that much AInc may do coincides with much of anything the public wants.

There are others, as well as explanations, but...no point.

I wish you luck with it, I just doubt a petition is 'all it will take' here.

PS - Moving to Amiga chat, more appropriate there, and maybe more people will see it at least..

Another example of a petition which has over 1000 signatures, yet I'm unaware of AInc ever even acknowledging it's existence...

@fairlanefastback

Petitions do NOT work. Sorry!

ps: Bounties DO work. Keep that in mind. Thanks!

@Darth_X

I'm not expecting it to. If anything I expect it will NOT "work" at all.

But be that as it may I felt like writing it to feel I was doing something that is a positive action to take, again even if it has a tremendously high probability to not change a d*mn thing. Plus I figure its a way we can show some sort of solidarity.

As for bounties working I wish I had Richard Branson's money to make a worthwhile one, alas I do not.

@Darth_X

I think you are absolutely right in regards to both petitions and bounties. Just signed it because I had read it and felt it was the right thing to do.

Can also see that fairlanefastback feels just like me about the current situation.

Thats cool. As I said in my post it was not intended to address all outstanding issues, nor am I asking for a bunch of people to sign it. Its there to be there for those who feel the same way and are willing to sign it.

It certainly is not "all it will take". But I'll say this, I'd rather that it be out there and another stop on the internet where some of the percieved problems are expressed in a written form and may come up in a google search. None of us know really what is going on in the heads of the people running the show there at Amiga, Inc. But if it even helps contribute in any way to them cleaning up their act with the community it would be great. And well if it does squat, then it was only 25 minutes of my life wasted (plus about 2 minutes per person to read it - who bother - LOL).

Yep. I'm signatory #1374 on that one. I signed it earlier today. And there is already a #1375 after me. Again, it will probably not help at all. But it can't hurt either. And again, the more places Amiga Inc.'s actions (or inactions) are posted on the internet the better I think. If it raises the chances one iota that they will start communicating with consumers and negotiating with other parties more effectively thats grand. If it dosen't, oh well. I can keep my expecttions low but still be happy I voiced these things :)

Good idea! I think this has more chance of being read by the likes of Bill McEwan than the Deluxe Paint Petition had of being read by the big EA bosses (see link)! This is a small community with the potential to grow, so sell some hardware licenses Amiga Inc!!

Deluxe Paint on OS4.0 petition!

@d0c

Would that really be Thomas Frieden himself who wrote it though. I could have called myself Yankee Doodle when I signed. There's no way that you'll know.

People are just so bad that can be on these petitions but luckily they have us who maybe are real? I would stop eventually communication even as being in a hard customers work, used to hear all kinds of crap but would put the finger up for some assholes.

Well I never give up. hehhehhehehhehhehhh....
Holes up!
