What upsets me, amongst other things, is the TOTAL disregard, not just for the community as customers, but for internet marketing.

There is a golden opportunity for KMOS to generate buzz on the internet, by releasing at least mobo shots. How often do you hear about films and products being successful due to internet buzz? It costs nothing, and that is how much KMOS has to spend!!! Getting the community on side SHOULD BE worth more to them than putting their shingle up on a stadium and yet they're willing to spend millions on that.

Internet buzz would be generated by the community, and hence our value to KMOS, if our doubts were put to rest. It would be exceptionally easy for KMOS or ACK to alleviate us of our concerns, as they would simply have to display a product shot (ie a mobo that isn't photoshopped).

Instead they have fostered negativity and hostility from the community, much more than ever before. The community would like to help them, if only they'd proove to us their intent is beneficial to our needs. Instead we wish KMOS DEAD(!!!) and this frustration with them percolates around the internet and soils all interest in them from outside parties(such as investors and partners) and gaining greater respect. As the community, and the value of their trademarks and IP dies off due to this, sentiment towards them will become worse.

Seeing as KMOS don't care, or even pretend to care about the community, or marketing in the form of internet buzz, they cannot have our best interests at heart, so they are not producing what they claim.

Simple answer, No, there will be no new hardware because no company with the aim of creating an Amiga market would behave in this manner.

FUKMOS!!! FUBM!!! Thanks for destroying the AMIGA dream!!!

Ok. Going back to my happy place now.

@BigBentheAussie

I have to side with those who believe the current Amiga?ack/Kent is some kind of smokescreen for a scam or con. Ridiculous inflated dotcoms cost a lot of people real money.

Amiga/Commodore's earlier owners were a pair who siphoned off huge salaries for the time even as the market share ,general revenues,and machines produced shrank to nothing.
Several millions of the inflated salaries being used to move and market the CD32 could have made possible a real comeback.

But the last several "owners" of Amiga Ip seem to have been little more than a shell game to avoid paying bills;I remember some local drygoods merchants who seemed to have lots of name changes yet the same faces until they finally had a REAL fire sale.

Expecting never to be able to legally run anything past 3.9 or Amiga Forever;will be SHOCKED if any new official Amiga hardware/software comes out of the mess.

What's really irritating are the dumb answers you get instead of solid information. "The crystal ball says YES". "The tea leaves say YES". I'm tired of non-disclosure agreements. The trouble is there is no way to know if there is really anything that is not being disclosed.

@BigBentheAussie

I agree with you. Simple photos of hardware would do... And thats like what 10-20 minutes of work???
Even if its a prototype...
But I think this is what happens when engineers / geeks run businesses... I have never seen anything this bad. They sure don't teach this at business schools - not even thinking harvard, basic business 101.
there are some wealthy individuals that would be willing to be dealers, support the community - yet they are not given a chance.

Maybe we should launch a lawsuit against A Inc for false advertising, broken promises. I'm sure a joint lawsuit by community would bring them to their knees... Frankly I trust more Hyperion than to A Inc. at least hyperion and its team delivered OS4.

I have watched some old interview footages of Bill McEwen at YouTube, and i have to say he really looks like a complete idiot. Anything he said was just not realistic at all!

If somebody should own the rights to Amiga, then i has to be Hyperion...

While I still hold some hope that Amiga Inc's interest in OS4 is for real (but perhaps as an Internet Tablet, etc rather than as a desktop PC), I'm very much more in favour of Hyperion controlling OS4, and having OS4 on ACube's hardware, as they seem much more legit & like real companies to me.

I still wonder if these Amiga systems will come. Now the summer is over and we are in August. The low-end ACK PPC Amiga is supposed to be released now, while the High-End Dual Core 64-bit PPC Amiga from ACK is supposed to be released Winter 2007..

We can't allow these plans to fail, as they are TOO important for the Amiga markedet, and definitely a killer-offer to gain success...

How can we prevent it? We cannot force Adam to work on them if he is not doing that. It's all in his hands, not ours.

@billt

I find it hard to imagine how ONE single man possible can manage to get these super-advanced Amiga-systems to be released...

No, he can't force anybody, but he can make an important statement...

The point here is "Over 3 months and counting since the promise to deliver information concerning the manufacturing partner and shipping schedule -the following week-. Not good.

@Helge

One man backed by lots of cash can produce boards. Does ACK have the cash?

I wonder if AI is funding this project or if ACK is doing this alone and has to pay royalties.

I think Adam has stated this is on hold anyways due to the legal mess.

I'm placing my hope on Acube and the companies that have a history of shipping products.

This trial case certainly ruins a lot... I'm willing to investigate a lot of money into these new promises hardwares, but ONLY if they ever show up this year! The clock is ticking...

That is what Adam says, but AInc. seems to think differently. They have not changed or removed the ACK news items or changed the estimated delivery windows.

@Helge

Maybe if you can't get an OS4 system by the end of this year you should consider MorphOS as something to play around with instead. The outlay for an Efika based system won't be huge and you wont have to clear your desk to make room for it.

That way you can run Amiga programs and I think there are a few native audio apps too. You can always keep OS4 but relieve the frustration of waiting with what could be the next best thing.

It would be nice to see OS4 on Genesi hardware, but you'd have to be able to remove Bill Mcewen from the equation for it to happen.

There is no project, there is no funding and there will be no royalties.

If you like you can be kind to ACK and assume he is naive and not malign like Scamiga Inc.
