@fairlanefastback
Before passing judgement on ACK (again), I'm personally willing to allow up to one week slippage. Things do happen, although you'd have though ACK might realise that by now, and take account of that in his promises/predictions...

If ACK does fail to deliver on these (pretty small) promises to return hardware, I'm going to quite happily class ACK as a compulsive liar.

If ACK does deliver, just a week late, then that would fit with him being incredibly badly organised, and unable to make good time estimates - and so the best we can hope for is that his OS4 hardware will be late.

But I'm still hoping that ACK will disprove my expectations, and get something delivered this week (you can't really quibble on a day or two late).

@ChrisH

I definately was hoping this thread would be cause for celebration and for good PR for ACK. And even if ACK has screwed up the first promise in the new series of promises I'm all for praising him fixing it for the guy in the first missed instance here. In general though how disorganized at shipping boxes could a guy be whose primary job is running a store that ships boxes? The direction this is going so far, yet again, is not good.

@NoelFuller

I'm curious. How do you feel about the latest missed promise? You were the primary ACK defender in the last thread in many ways I think. So I think you view on the latest new would be interesting.

Well I'm guessing moderators will be along shortly on this post. But I will say this, ACK is getting to the point where this will be hard to deny very soon, unless we get a quick turn-around.

The guy has had over 2 years to defend himself, not sure how people can still have faith in his lies and deception when time and time again he has delivered nothing and has stolen from fellow Amiga users. If the moderators moderate my comments then so be it but Adam has dug his own grave and people need to be told of what sort of person he is before they get screwed over.

It all comes up to how you put your criticism and mistrust against him, but namecalling is not ok.

latest non-news I would call it ...

1. I'm not so much an Ack defender as a seeker of explanations that do not require attributions of character etc that short-out better understanding and goodwill.

2. When I saw Ack's posting on the boards I immediately thought that was a mistake as he should have said nothing until they were posted, if at all. Perhaps he panicked over suggestions that the law should be invoked.

3. In particular I deduced that work had not been completed on the boards and might not be straightforward. Therefore there would be slippage and in PR terms Ack would be even deeper in the poo..

Well I think a new promise unfufilled is news. Its an interesting play on words though I suppose to say him not fufilling is "non-news". :)

Ok then. We have the new round of promises and they don't seem like lofty ones this go round. We are talking about promises to ship out things mostly. And we have a situation where we know shipping things is what Adam is primarily involved in day to day, or at least he was and should be well familiar with such from the relatively recent documentation hatschi found that he runs a shipping store as his full time gig. So how would you suggest, given Chris having at least 7 emails as he puts it of a repeated promise at this point? I think he has little choice but to seek remedy through the authorities IMHO but do you have an alternative suggestion?

If he did panic in such a regard I would think he would have followed through though. So far its not looking good on the first one. So it would be curious to react that way intially and then not fulfill at this point on his yet again self imposed dates. The pattern of behavior is hard to decipher. At some point even if he is just mis-guided these guys need a remedy for their withheld stuff.

But there are other options if thats true. If it is the case he can say his firm was unable to make the repairs so far, or ever, depending on the severity of the isuse or the level of his skill or the equipment he has available to him etc. He could offer to at least return the equipment and money so they can seek other repair options at the least. At least that gets him out of a position of witholding property and currency from its legal owners. These guys do deserve their stuff back, if not fixed, at least back as they sent it.

Not presently, no.

Not posting this in defense, just so it's not used incorrectly as ammunition to fuel the conclusions here.

Thats more than fair, and we don't need to keep a running log of what his full time job is. I'm for assuming your information is accurate. That said I'll just re-iterate that the experience of running a shipping store in the recent past should mean (IMO) that he can handle getting packages out and to deal with tracking numbers effectively etc.

@fairlanefastback

The quest that he has set for himself (shipping out N repaired boards) is obviously more than simply boxing up working stuff and posting it. I would guess that some, if not all, of those boards/modules have to be repaired (probably with expensive CPUs) and that takes time and money.

However, fixing and despatching one or two of the easier jobs would go a long way to restoring some faith.

is it known if Adam is a real person after all?!
I mean did someone actually talk to or seen him in person?

just a slip-thought, but maybe it's the reason why he seems
not to bother to fulfill his promises. (I'm going to give him
the doubt for these last ones till next week though)

/*silly fantasize mode on*/
maybe he is an other personification of billmac,so he can add
ack! to the big list of companies involved in the
"Am*ga-world-premier-multimedia-offering-blahblah-thing"
(just to persuade THe JuDge)

Of course he exists. Don't be silly guys.

It is still very much possible those boards get shipped this week, I'm with ChrisH on waiting a bit more. If they don't ship any time soon, obviously a major issue then.
