time for a 50$ coupon thread now ?
As it seems that things are very important for A inc right now, I am sure that they will also pay back the coupons before the 15th page of the thread :) |

Excellent. Thanks for taking the time to update us all. Mission accomplished on one so far then! This bolsters the chances on the others. I'm estatic to see this. And again am glad at the latest efforts by ACK. Also its very honorable of you to take more of your personal time to update the BBB IMO.

Perhaps. :) Maybe "Please pay back the $90,000 to the community."? ;)_________________ Pegasos2 G3 running AOS 4.1 and MorphOS 2.0 Amikit user, tinkering with Icaros VM (AROS) EFIKA owner Amiga 1200 |

| @Naz What i find funny is that Amiga inc claimed they would honour the $50 coupons just a month or so before they announced they were suing hyperion.. I wonder if this was only because they knew that OS4 would never be released anyways, which would mean they would not honour them.

Perhaps, I don't know.
I think they just tried (and are still trying) to to polish up their public appearance as they knew as soon as they would start the court issues lot of people would start to do some research about them. So they just tried to appear as a honest and correct company. It's like when you wear your best shirt when you go to a party I think right now it's possible that they pay back the money.

I'm glad to hear AmigaAbattoir received his board back.
It's something to add to Hatschi's list.
Now how about Ivan and Kneedeep's boards ? |

| Yeah, it'd be nice to hear that they got a tracking number, even if it will take a few days to reach them.
edit: Many days ago Ivan was kind enough to reply to my private message, but that was before AmigaAbattoir heard anything from ACK. (And yes, I'm not actually saying what Ivan said, since he didn't actually give me permission to mention it publically.) Last edited by ChrisH on 23-Jul-2007 at 08:37 PM.

Adam you've had some breathing time to I hope see the postive intentions of this thread. And you've done some postive things recently. Perhaps you can continue this with some more info on things that could help the community to infuse your business with some cash. Like a PowerVixxen update, or updates on the state of the new Amigas? If you did I suspect you'd have more people lining up with similar intentions as Philip here._________________ Pegasos2 G3 running AOS 4.1 and MorphOS 2.0 Amikit user, tinkering with Icaros VM (AROS) EFIKA owner Amiga 1200 |

| Just to let you all know - today Ivan gave me an update of his situation, and also permission to tell it:
So far Ivan has not received anything from ACK, not even a tracking number. _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue... |

Well I guess my gut was wrong on ACK coming through for him after the good news with Chris. So much for trying to repair his company's reputation I guess. Its very tiring to see the community toyed with by these different vendors. Last edited by fairlanefastback on 25-Jul-2007 at 02:15 PM.

There seems to be little desire to change. And the company seems to only respond to pressure instead of goodwill. Despite that I and I am sure others have continued to show we are a forgiving lot in general here in the community and would continue to welcome change. It is hard for people to change overnight. I was very encouraged by the recent effort with Chris. That said our community brother is being screwed again (Ivan). If it were me, I'd contact the authorities at this point.Last edited by fairlanefastback on 25-Jul-2007 at 02:39 PM.

| @fairlanefastback The way it seems to me so far is that ACK managed to send 1 board out, past my personal deadline of 1 week late, but before I was sure he hadn't done so, thus barely preventing me from bad mouthing him again. It begins to feel like we have to publically whip ACK to get anything done, and that sure as hell is not what I want to do.
A reminder of what ACK Posted on 8-Jul-2007 8:44:15 Quote:
2) I'm just waiting on a few case parts for Ivan's machine that were damaged when the machine was shipped to me, but he'll have it this week. |
Thus ACK is already 10 days late (today 25th - Sun 15th) in his promise to Ivan. That's about how late he was with Chris's board, before he received a tracking number. So it might still happen, but I have to question whether ACK ever really intended to meet the self-imposed deadlines that he gave us 2.5 weeks ago. (And if he did honestly intend to, then should we trust he judgement on something slightly bigger, like say building two entirely new PPC mobos from the ground up? Not to mention the A1200 accelerator that is apparently still on the cards.)Last edited by ChrisH on 25-Jul-2007 at 02:40 PM.

I think its pretty clear we can not trust his judgement at this point. I think we are down to hoping that we can assist as a community in the effort to pry these remaining machines out of his company's hands and back to their rightful owners.
As for these supposed products they are making and have made but not yet sold, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.Last edited by fairlanefastback on 25-Jul-2007 at 04:00 PM.

| When the original thread started, some people were quick to criticise ACK, others were accused of "mudslinging" and namecalling.
Yet again ACK has singularly failed to deliver on a promise. This was his opportunity to prove that he could get stuff out the door. Some people gave me a hard time when I said a broken promise may as well be a lie. Well, I hope these people are thinking of Ivan and Kneedeep who received more promises and disappointment.
At best ACK is extremely unreliable, at worst a liar. I could go with extremely unreliable if there was a shred of proof that PowerVixxen was more than vapour.
The future of the Amiga is most definitely not via ACK.
