@Drako

Gah! Won't someone please actually release an Amigalike OS for my G4 Mac mini instead of waving them under my nose.

I really hope this is going to be an official target hardware for MOS2.

@Drako

I think I would kill for that

Note that it's running on a typical 1.4Ghz Mac (PowerMac 10,1 instead of 10,2) and it's not as restricted as OS4

BTW, I still remember the stupid comments aimed at me "noooo you can't port AmigaOS4 on a Mac because hardware is super-special, we don't have docs and that's impossible" xDDD

I guess "Moana" and this are just in my imagination then :P

I haven't followed Morphos that much but does it run classic Amiga software?

Is Morphos still available?

Which machines does it run on?

Finally, the butterly logo is better than AROS's cat, just my opinion...

@TheDaddy

MorphOS is very compatible to AmigaOS . It supports most 3.x and much 2.x software *including* WarpOS, PowerUp and W3D. Even many OS4 apps are running using an API wrapper called OS4Emu.
I even run some old 1.x software on my Pegasos which I never expected they would run.
Currently MOS 1.4.5 is publically available for PowerUp and Pegasos 1 &2. MorphOS 2.0 (scheduled for around Eastern) will initially support the Pegasos 1&2 and Efika1. Later support for teh Mac Mini is now announced, also the PowerUp boards will probalby get supported. The 5121 powered devices (Efika2, LimeOS) alre laso an option.

@All

Hmmmm, this start to actually look interesting, since AInc. is totally uncapable to
do absolutly NOTHING! No HW nor anything else either....
I love my OS4 but when my HW dies or something??? What then... maybe MOS or AROS..

@Drako

This is very cool.

If it winds up making it being released, I might actually be interested in picking up a mini.

Too bad OS4 idiocy (licensing) stopped Moana from being a real released (and finished) product.

More news about the ongoing porting of MorphOS to MacMinis G4 from Harry "Piru" Sintonen, MorphOS team core member, on this thread at Amiga.org:
http://www.amiga.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=42955&forum=4

Among the other things:
- MorphOS should work on all MacMinis G4, regardless of CPU frequency, Firmware version, Radeon version.

Kind regards,
Andrea

Good job I bought the fastest available PPC Mac mini when it was released then... (1.5ghz) - I allways knew there was a reason for wanting a PPC Mac...
