@quenthal

>>Nice pics!

I still haven't ordered mine, but soon I'll do that!

Thanks, I just did everything in a hurry to share this minimig moment, one day I'll tidy the site up!

@AmigaClyde

>>Thanks for all the photos. Very nice li'l board.

Thanks.

I must admit that the board got me by surprise.

You don't realise how small it is until you open the box and hold the thing. All the pictures on the net don't prepare you for the "nice shock" that's why I took a few shots of the minimig together with common objects.

>>The 500 was our family's first home computer. Only went for the A1200 because of the promise of ethernet/memory/harddisk expansion and the fancier color of course. But, all the big games we ever bought were for the A500. And *NOW* you won't have to have 2 disk drives and swapping floppies all the time!
Looking forward to more blogging on your experience.
Good on you.

There should be quite a few titles to test on the minimig and the 2GB SD-Card should do a good job at storing them.

Thanks

>>Nice a Neat...
Looks like a really good purchase.

I hope so. To me it's like having bought a new, slightly improved A500, but with massive advantages over the classic machine, the idea of hooking it up to a VGA monitor, the SD-Card storage, the PS2 and Amiga port, the standard audio connector and the incredible dimensions made it for me! It's also new.

>>What kind of casing options are there?

At the moment nothing. You can do what others have done; a piece of perspex on the top and one on the bottom...

>>Also software wise what if I want to buy some games from the Amiga 500 catalog?

You'll find that most Amiga games have become free to download from their developers' websites, others are still copyrighted material, but it shouldn't be to difficult to get some classic software. Ebay has hundreds of titles.

>>It would be nice if there was a web site with say 30,000+++ titles all ready in ADF format for immediate PayPal payment and downloading.

It would, but the logistics of it could be a problem. Imagine trying to track down the original auhtors of every piece of software made for the Amiga. Even if some is or has become abandonware the rest is still copyrighted, BUT I would not discard the idea, maybe someone....

Too bad there isn't a full machine, with case,... These days we see pictures of motherboards, with detailed specs of the FPGA used,... But really: who cares ?!

Just wished someone made an amiga in a joystick, hiding this layers I don't care at all... and wouldn't fit on my desk ;)

Anyway, that's still better than I expected, with a box/doc,... :)

Man, I've got an empty A600 case that's just begging for this.

Do you think the Minimig will fit in a 3.5 HD case ?

like this:

Or perhaps a double 3.5 HD case:

It's aloy so with a dremel you can easily do the hole for the connectors

Yes - it does need to be sold with a case to give it a good commercial chance. Perhaps this could become the answer?: http://web.comhem.se/illuwatar/project_pages/minimig/minimig.htm

@DualCrew

The Minimig is nano-atx sized so I would guess that you can buy any nano atx case and just cut the relevant holes.

@DualCrew

That looks cool. Would be good if ACube had some custom cases to sell with it though.
