@Tomas

I tried that url, no GR here, though I have had a few GRs so far. This new version seems a bit slow to me, but it could be the sites I've looked at.

@Tomas

http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/01271.html
kills my OWB 3.10 web browser every time with a GR. Web page loads fine with OWB 3.7.

Typing this post is also very slow. I am typing ahead of what is showing up on screen. Seems like slower than 110 BAUD.

I think this new version is using up way more RAM than before. I don't notice the memory usage increasing like it did with OWB 3.9.

I have standard 256MB RAM as supplied with my MicroA1. Right now showing just under 46MB available RAM.

Also on some sites scrolling leaves artifacts behind if there are photos. This may also be memory related.

Well ....

Shortly after typing that last post, I was sitting there for a moment, moved the mouse, the pointer did not follow and my system froze solid. No response to ctrl alt alt. Power off and on to reset.

Tried that link again & again, no crash.

Are you guys using minigl lib v2.1? The newest minigl.lha on OS4 Depot contains 2 new libs, mglut.library & minigl.library, both v2.1. Make sure both are v2.1 & not a mixed install, the only thing I can think of that could be your problem.

@sundown

I had original libraries, probably installed from AmigaOS4.1 CD
minigl.library 2.0
mglut.library 2.0

Upgraded both to version 2.1. No difference. Webpage reported by Tomas still kills OWB 3.10 with a GR.

@all

OK I just noticed that OWB 3.10 has the same memory eating thing as OWB 3.9. Not sure yet if it is triggered by those two animated gifs, but when it starts, the memory is eaten up like crazy. I can see my available memory counting down very quickly. I saw it happen over on amigans.net as well.

My system freezes solid when the memory drops below the low end threshold. Power off & on to reset.

Can't explain the GR's yet on that web page Tomas gave us.

Typing this in OWB, its a bit slow. I have yet to see any memory leak problem & that site loads fine every time I try it.

@redfox

Confirmed crashy nature of URL mentioned. Reported about this at OS4Depot.net 's crashlog site.

@unimon

I have been using OWB 3.11 for about an hour. Seems to be very stable so far. Typing posts at amiga.org, amigaworld.net and amigans.net is working just fine. Typing speed is just like OWB 3.7.

So far I have seen two GR, one at the site Tomas reported earlier and also another site.
Both sites work fine on OWB 3.7.

@redfox

Yes, the 3.11 is the new version of OWB.

It's far better than the previous one, more stable and smoother.
New icons are nice too.

Here are the changes :
3.11 (18.4.2009)
- Updated to SVN revision 915.
- Fixed bugs.os4depot.net issues #120 and #129.
- Updated about : contents.
- Improved font selection if the webcore fonts are not installed.
- Changed rendering method reducing the CPU usage if there are several
changes, for example GIF anims, done at the same time, and when
entering texts.
- Included new icons, toolbar and scrollbar images and scripts from
Martin Merz.

Hope that OWB for OS4 will catch up soon the MOS (and AROS) version

@Tomas

I am using the newest version of OWB ... OWB 3.11

I get an instant grimreaper on http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/01271.html

However, if I enter that website at the top and work down through the various pages I can get all the way down to where I pick a station and it croaks when loading that last webpage. I tried several countries including my own (Canada). For Canada, I can pick Canada, then Alberta, then click on Edmonton Namao and it croaks when loading that page.

I have a feeling that it is something to do with fonts or one of the advertizements on that last webpage.

Also get a grimreaper on a website that contains a large collection of photos. If I recall correctly, the photos at the top of the page change when viewing with some pc web browsers almost like a mini slideshow. In any case the webpage comes up ok with OWB 3.7 (no mini photo slideshow) but croaks immediately with OWB 3.10 or OWB 3.11. I suspect I am simply running out of RAM. OWB 3.8, OWB 3.9, OWB 3.10 and OWB 3.11 consume alot of RAM.

MicroA1 with 750 GX and 256 MB of RAM may be running too close to the edge for AmigaOS 4.1 and OWB 3.11.
