Because, if something where to actually turn up, then it would be some sort of miracle. And if some one, wome where knows something, then let us know..

@Yssing

We have ACube hardware now, so who cares. Everyone knew these were likely vapourware at the time so it's not as if anyone should feel overly cheated or let down. Troika were a disgrace at the Big Bash 2007 or whenever it was! It was like listening to the local Maplins manager waffle on about his latest kit project instead of a slick MD pitching an idea to the Dragon's Den! And Adam at ACK, well has he ever delivered ANY project ever?? I didn't think so - ALL A LOT OF HOT WIND!!! Close this thread I suggest

Unfortunately it was not as you say. There was a decent number of people who took ACK and Amiga, Inc. seriously at the time. One member here even added to their sig which of the two ACK Amigas they were going to run (and he was serious). People asked Adam questions in IRC about the products where they were not joking.

And then there was the issue of Kneedeep's un-returned AmigaOne as well. (Which I pray is resolved by now).

I think its worth some measure to care about which companies harmed this community and which have not. That said, as you imply, it is a happy time that we have Acube hardware now, and I wish we had more happy threads these days. I think the community is so used to disappointment, that sometimes it feels some weird void if its not revisiting it every once in a while for some sad reason.

Why? What is wrong with you? We've had years of broken promises and vapour so you remind us of it because........

Geesh dude, you that bored? How about putting that energy into something more worthy instead of trolling.

In my opinion, 90% of the threads started here should be closed.
But who are we to tell ppl what they can talk about. I believed in ack at one point, so the topic is of some interest to me.

Nope, he never got it back, my guess, ack was designing a new cpu module & destroyed kneedeep's board in the process. Nothing left to return.

Well then ACK should pay him current average street value as compensation.

More than one hardware manuafatcurer would be good. Acubes hardware is also not exactly appealing to some people, and theyre unable to supply to some of the people who are interested. Good on them for providing a product, but more options are needed.

@all

So Yssing posed the question asking, "what about Troika"?

What are the thoughts on them out there?

But let's not forget that Hyperion has already admitted on this very website to having hardware from Troika. Sorry, but I don't think it's fair to group ACK and Troika in that fashion.

In theory though, that does not necessitate it was good/workable hardware that they received (based solely on your statement's contents here). Do you have a link to that post? (As I'd be curious to read it).

Sure. I'm certain you'll remember this thread when you look at it again.

Although the entire thread might be worth a read, inquisitive minds might want to start with the post from the developer #242

Then review the posts by Hyperion representatives in the pages which follow.

Please let's not revive the arguments in that thread. I offer it only for informative purposes to clear the record regarding statements made by others.
