Given the circumstance, it was actually very mild, no more than a typical AW thread. The weather was discussed as much as anything else. If you're new to IRC it can seem chaotic even on a clam day though.

I'll relay your thanks to team*amiga and superhosts.

It always HAS been.

Staff is "considering" the possibility of having more of these sessions.
Since community input might tip the scales on such a decision, I suggest anyone who wishes to express their opinion on that topic, do so at Ashachat in the next few weeks.

@wawa

Logs will show otherwise. Bunk

Oh wait, there was that one guy.... But that wasn't even directed at the topic. It's odd you're trying to paint the rest of the well done event as some kind of bar brawl.

@Plaz

not trying to paint anything. i dont care to catch logs of anything like that to prove anyone guilty. i only listened to irc for the firs time and it was definitely an impression after moderated session has been closed, and expressions like "s**train" have veen used.

From team*amiga to Amigaworld:

Quote:
The Asha Develder Memorial Internet Relay Chat is still going, and another
one is coming up this Sunday, July 7, 2013.

Chat will be starting at 3pm EDT (2000 UTC). We changed the start time in
order to include more people from Europe, as the original start time was in
the middle of the night for them. But we're still keeping it going through
until 11pm EDT (0400 UTC), with stragglers until whenever.

SPECIAL GUEST: Joining us at 6pm EDT will be Steven Solie who is the acting AmigaOS Development Team Lead.
Steven will try his best to answer all of your questions about the one and only Amiga Operating Sytem. Suggestions for improvements to AmigaOS are also welcome.

During the Solie visit, the channel will be moderated. Please feed your
questions to the designated channel @operator or +moderator. Before and
after that, it'll be an unmoderated channel.

Standard Ashachat rules apply: No religion or politics until after things
wind down at 11pm EDT. And other IRC etiquette rules apply, as well, such
as no flooding.

server = irc.superhosts.net - port 6667
channel = #team*amiga
have patience with connect time

The irc template for sending questions to a moderator/op:

"/msg [operator nick] [question]" no quotes

I haven't logged in to there in a long long time. Think it was 8 years ago since I was a server admin on Exodus IRC. Nice to see the chat continues after Asha's passing. Unfortunetly I had to log out just prior to Roberto's Q&A.

5 hours until the q/a. Channel open for general discussion until then.

One additional note just relayed to me, in response to the news yesterday from VCF.

Although the chat topic was listed as "Amiga OS" and "Amiga OS development",
questions regarding h/w in general or specific to yesterday's show will -also- be accepted.

So take some time to prepare well thought out questions while you have the opportunity to do so.

@eliyahu

Thanks for posting the log.
Would have liked to have taken part, but I didn't feel that my asking any questions of Steven would add value to the discussion.

Ashachat is open for general discussion and voiced from 3:00 p.m. EDT forward.

As I mentioned in an earlier post:

Quote:

Staff will be meeting to discuss the above, but we'll take your questions in #team*amiga, if you have any.

In addition, Robert Dohnert has stated in another thread that he will be present to discuss his plans and undoubtedly answer questions, but there is NO q/a scheduled this week due the meeting.

I'm sure there is plenty to discuss, not the least of which is the terms sheet agreement between Amiga Games Inc. (Bill McEwen) and Writer's Group Film Corp. and if and how that might affect the future.

@thread

Regarding future q/a sessions at Ashachat after staff discussion and input from those who attend the channel:

Although we had two q/a sessions in a period of two weeks, this will not be a weekly feature. It was decided for the time being to only do these sessions approximately once a month.

For the time being, any other business/person/group who wishes to take advantage of the moderated chat vehicle we have in place, may PM me on this website with a request.

You are free to crosspost this offer to other websites, but be aware that such requests will need to be reviewed by team*amiga. In addition, since there is a backload of requests even prior to making this offer, replies to requests may be slow. Please include contact info if you make such a request.

Thank you.

SPECIAL GUEST: Joining us at 5pm EDT will be Trevor Dickinson who is a founding shareholder of A-EON Technology, a Commodore and Amiga collector and self confessed "Amigaholic". Trevor will attempt to answer all questions about his Amiga passion.

During Trevor Dickinson's visit, the channel will be moderated. Please feed your questions to the designated channel @operator or +moderator. Before and after the visit, it will be an unmoderated/voiced channel.

Standard Ashachat rules apply: No religion or politics until after things
