I have could see this wireless card in Amikit and I'll am interested in buy one but under two clear reasons, first that this card works in Amiga OS 4.1 (drivers, connection to Wifi, etc.) and second that this card I can insert the Sam box (desktop mini ITX box) although in this case I'll have that put it with one adapt card to put it in horizontal instead of vertical.

Some ideas and expericences with these hardwares; thank you for your help and suggestions.

If it is a Prism2 device it will work.

I have one of those wireless network cards from Amikit in my Sam440ep.
It has power (the power led is on) and it shows up in the list of PCI devices.
However, it is the only wireless device I have here at the moment, so I can't tell you how well it works.

I had to use a angled PCI riser card to make it fit. This one works:

http://www.picco.nl/product_info.php?cPath=21_61&products_id=1488&osCsid=40b1fa92c6d0cf6b4aed273d2f8baa91

I also had to change the backplate; I put the sam on a scanner and printed the picture. Then I glued it to a piece of aluminium and cut out holes for the connectors. It took about 15 minutes to make the modified backplate.

kind regards,

Dennis

@Templario

I have perchased a NETPCI001 wireless network cardfor my Sam440, however I need a riser card.

I wondered if anyone new where to purchase one in the UK that is compatible.

Are 2 slot riser cards compatible as I would also like a 9250 graphics card.

I have checked AmigaKit where I purchased my network card but they do not sell the riser.

Any ideas?

@Templario

I've seen these online:
http://www.tranquilpc-shop.co.uk/acatalog/PCI_Risers.html
but have no way of knowing if these would work.

Do two slot riser cards work?

Does anyone know of a card model number that works?

@A3000T

I see you managed to get a single slot riser card to work on your sam, do you know if this can be purchased in the UK?

Did you try to get any 2 slot riser cards working before trying this card?

Yes, the shop where I bought it does take international orders. But the English and American flags on their website don't seem to change the language, so it may be dificult to place an order if you don't speak Dutch.

> Did you try to get any 2 slot riser cards working before trying this card?

No, the 2-slot risers don't fit in my case, so I didn't try any.

Kind regards,

Dennis

Thank you friend for your link, but I think that this riser card is very difficult that enter in my Sam's case because it seems highest for the case size, but thank you for your help.

@Templario

I have, over the past couple of days rewired/rebuilt my AmigaOne and decided to put the NETPCI001 card in that instead.

The card fits perfectly but was unable to get a wireless connection.

It may be just a case of spending some more time with it, but for now I have it set up with a wired connection.

I still believe that there is a need for a riser card though.

I would definitely prefer a wireless Sam to a wireless A1.

@all

Got round to setting up my Sam440ep again and still having issues with getting online either wired or with the NETPCI001 card.

As my Sam440ep isn't near an ethernet port I am using TPLink plugs to use ethernet over the electrics of the house.

https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/tl-pa4010-kit/

I know the plugs work as I have used them with a laptop running MorphOS that had no wifi.

please, anyone, help

Tried both Ethernet sockets? IIRC it comes with two. Aside from that try clearing out your NetInterfaces if you have some stacked up. You may try using that wizard to see if it detects a connection.

@1Mouse

How did you use a laptop without ethernet with these TP-Link plugs that have ethernet?

My mistake, I meant a PowerBook without wifi but with an ethernet port

@1Mouse @Templario

Vonets do a range of self configuring wifi repeater/bridge units pretty cheap. You'll find them on ebay.

For my A1XE I use one as a wifi repeater but connect to my A1 with an ethernet cable.

Good range, too, 100 metres.

Powered by USB, configured through a web page
