ACube could be involved as supplier. SAM could still continue to support the lower end of the market. _________________ Back home... |

"I see that 6.html is already there, and that is where the hidden image was found. (check the source... it's in an element which is hidden by css)"
Yes, Thats where I found it, 5.html says "look closer" and 6.html says "even closer" so I viewed the source and found the link.
This is so much fun I can't get any sleep.. LOL

| Could thye CPU be this: MPC864x "The problems associated with the bandwidth-constrained external MPX bus interface found on the 74xx series are relieved with single (MPC8641) or dual (MPC8641D) e600 cores, faster system interface via RapidIO, dual x8 PCI Express and an on-die 667 MHz MPX interconnect between I/O, the cores, and dual 64-bit DDR2-memory controllers (with ECC). The product also features four on-chip Gigabit ethernet controllers with TCP/UDP offloading features. The dual core MPC8641D has support for asymmetric multiprocessing, which enables two operating systems to run on the same device simultaneously, sharing resources but largely unaware of each other."
I think this might deliver a way to sandbox AOS4 and 68k apps easily: "two operating systems to run on the same device simultaneously" _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer? |

| @-Sam- I don't really agree that the CPU (alone) makes any difference to the consumer. With other bits and pieces added it certainly will but it all comes at a cost. Must be the Amiga tax instead of the apple one Last edited by Troels on 03-Jan-2010 at 02:42 PM.

I'd love to know why the 'taxing' util is called giantkiller

This is not really my field but doesn't this imply that maybe we are looking at a 64-bit AmigaOS? Isn't 4 gigs the maximum amount of memory that can be allocated in a a 32-bit system? |
Yes, 32 bit CPU's can only address 4 gigs of memory._________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. Write me a mail |

| Okay, so far for the hardware. But what about the software? Any hints? Any thoughts? What will a killer board be without killer software?

| Is Amiga.inc in anyway (except license issues) involved with this?

Perhaps the board can have to dimms per OS, when running assymmetric mode? _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer? |
