Yeah ok but not too many, or else there will be no coffers left for computers! I am trying to get an 1000 (1985 model, A1000 if you will), hopefully soon I will have one. Not into collections, but having the first ever one is something I want.

I have not read your articles but I feel I would buy the book if it was produced. "on the edge" was a great read.

Going back to the topic, your investment is inspirational - I will have to find something to "give" back to the community one day... right now, I could stretch to T-Shirts for everyone, which is more than A Inc managed to do!

Thanks again TrevorDick. Its a shame I missed the ANT event. I have not been in amongst Amiga's face-to-face since Big Bash 3/4? (Forgot how many there were, 3 I think!)

PS we are both British and started life as Geologists

Ah, cool. I am Geograph and I used to work on urban soils and soils in general.. so, that's very close to Geology.
The Geologists where just next door at uni, and I did quiet a few courses there... anyway the parties at the Institute of Geology where always very cool, nice and straight people, good to get along with.... donnot know wether this is generaly the same all over the world, but in germany it seems it is. Good to know that there is a Geoscientist at A-Eon.

he, he seems that this is the problem all over the world... never stay a geolgist or geographer unless you wan't to stay at university your whole live getting degree after degree... seems that there are only a few geoscientists out there which actually work as a Geograph or Geologist.

cheers Gero

@A1200

There are ten of thousands of pathetic older men with money,hair transplants and expensive sports cars chasing young shallow women but only a SELECT FEW "gentlemen of means" that have the fiber and fortitude to promote a hobby or endeavor that will benefit others as well as ,hopefully,turn a profit.

I've read that Neil Young bankrolled the "new" Lional Trains a decade ago,thus preserving a great American company and traditions.

@TrevorDick
Let me offer my thanks for your support of one of my hobbies.

AEON, EON (both geological terms) A-EON, A-ONE

Well hope I got that right, makes sense at least. In German Aeon is written "Äon" and it is (geolocial seen) the biggest division of "earthages". Smallest would be for example "devonian" which lastet about 55 Mill years, if I remember right. Stick some more of those smaller devision together you get about 2000 Mill years in one Eon....
So more or less we are not talking of an new beginning of an Ice Age, we are not talking about the beginning of a new calendarium... we are actually talking about a hardly never ending time span... (beyond beyond computing).

Hope this is not the time span we have to wait for the X1000, hope it is the time span the new Amiga Philosophy lasts...

greetings Gero

Me too! Anyway, when we tying to come up with a name for the new company we chose AEON because it was an anagram of A-ONE. Sad I know, but as I used to be a geologist there was certain symmetry to the choice.
