Welcome Digitex.

The design looks good. But please fix the perspective on the pictures it's not the correct one.

wow. that's some 'customization,' there.

in all seriousness the only thing they bring to the table is the brand and the case/keyboard and despite the hyperbole from leo and sudden new forum members, i think most of us were expecting that. i still think people will be interested, though. if it doesn't look horribly cheap at launch, they'll probably sell quite a few.

It's quite what I expected. I did not expect them to make their own motherboard (Thank God). The case has to be seen live before one can judge that but overall design is also what I expected and certainly not worse. I hope they can sell a few to break even so that maybe in the future we can have custom Amiga cases too, then it's up to you what you put in them (SAM or whatever). CUSA already said the cases could be bought standalone.

@Manu

It does look really good. I like the fact it has a n-draft 802.11 which means it'll be able to stream HD video by Wi-Fi. One cable less is always a good thing
Now, the only question I'm left wondering is the issue of the localized keyboard for some smaller countries. Certainly it will not effect me since most of the stuff I write is in english.

Yeah looks great...

I can think of much better ways to keep an annoying door open though...

Sometimes the "in your face" stunts you're pulling gets boring.
Just sometimes.

Mini itx is great. I've been wanting to do something like this with Amiga or ZX Spectrum cases, but never really picked it up. Also my skills with soldering irons and plastic cutters are not great... I'll probably wait for C=USA or someone else to do it for me

wait -- they did? ok. then it's a different story. if i can make any board into a 'commodore amiga,' then a mini-itx SAM will work just as well.

unless it's a horror show of cheap chinese plastics, i imagine they'll more than break even -- at least on the C64 're-make.'

Taking appart all the monstruous stupidity of this concept. The design is f*@i*g terrible that they couldn´t even come with a slot-in mechanism for the dvd instead of that CHEAP tray.

ALL IS SO PATHETIC. I think it will put the Amiga name into the biggest of ridiculous and make the tiny part of the computing world that could take a look at this because of the Amiga name bringing back some memories, to forget about any positive impression they could still reatin about the Amiga brand and concept.

What a real bad luck we have with these "companies" of ####.

Stage 1 - Buy a much loved brand name.
Stage 2 - Snub the existing users of said brand name and make lots of stickers
Stage 3 - Buy up a load of PC's, use stickers on them and market them to a community that doesn't want them as it cannot run the OS they are using & developing on.
Stage 4 - Profit!

Of course this only applies to OS4 & MOS operating system users.

(Okay AROS monkeys, start flinging your excrement.)

I also find slot loading more sexy and pratical. However many (most?) laptops and Xbox360 for example come with tray loaders and that doesn't seem to hurt their sales.

@Wizzard_o

In all fairness, it is not marketed and will not be marketed to this community, by a large part. The fact that Leo is posting here and trying to get a part of the community involved in the whole deal is only because he just happens to be a true commodore and amiga fan and a member of this site since 2003.

You don't want to buy it... fine. We get it. You still have PPC amigaONE and AmigaOS to invest in and play with, so I do not get this attitude towards C=USA. Be happy you have a choice and that amiga could possibly get vibrant and alive like it hasn't been since early 90s.

And besides, who uses that anyway these days. I can't remember when I used my DVD drive the last time. I completely switched to USB memory/portable HDDs and web/wi-fi/bluetooth.

@WolfToTheMoon

Excuse that I didn´t read+300 posts about something that doesn´t yet exist. After many years at this forum, I am tired of endless discussions about HYPOTHETICAL situations.

BUT: You are advertising it with the tray, so it is YOUR choice. I know I can buy a slot in drive (everywhere and cheap) like for any other pc case, but this is irrelevant: The adverts are still a real shame.

Oh: and great argument that of the DVD. Of couse I still use it a lot and it was Commodore who decided to put it. If you really think it is not usefull anymore, why are they including it? sorry, go to other wolf with this bone

I've approved the AR on this post. This is a warning. Don't call fellow members what you did there, its insulting and unwarranted.

P.S. I see your account has 4 ARs now. You should probably think a bit more about what you write before hitting the post button.

AHhhhh, finally.

'WE get it.' ----- 'YOU still have....'

Great. Now will you please only post in those threads that have C=USA in the title.

Thank You.
