It is now possible to link directly to your point on the map:

You will find the URL for your point once logged in (below the "Preview" link)

@AmiDelf2

Wow. I didn`t know so many Amiga users are still out there :) Great map idea :)

When I get new Ami, I will fill myself in too :)

Btw, Vox, don`t forget to MSG us when MiniMig arrives to you :)

p.s. added myself - my Miggy in Valjevo town / Serbia :)

@peo

The new admin panel is almost finished now :)

Just took up my work with it during some evenings in the last week. Still undone is the messaging functions (will not be done before release)

You can move your location, add/remove systems and adjust the info displayed with your point.

I need a few people willing to test the new admin panel, so if you're interested send me a PM.

Good to see Valjevo back on map

Yes, yes, but I`ve delayed plans for SAM 460 + OS 4.2 as best possible combo, so I don`t have to buy and import OS 4.2 again ... and have best possible hardware (since I know I am not gonna have money for X1000). Beauty, you, and if I get contact of Mr_W and Abyss68k will be invited

P.S.
When that time comes,
don`t forget to bring me my PageStream I need good text / book editor

Time for some words from the map owner...

It's been a while since I worked on the new admin interface for the map, but I finally got (took) some time to make the changes needed to make it useable for the 1200+ users that have signed up.

I will soon send a selected bunch of users on the map the address of the admin interface I have been working on, and these users are free to test the interface before I release it to everyone.

Whats still missing from the admin pages (or actually the map) is the functions that allows messaging between logged in users.

If some other people than those I have selected for testing is interested in participating in the process (or need to change anything), please send me a PM, and I will send you the link to the admin interface.

Hi,

I see that the map can show just certain users such as:
MiniMig owners SAM owners MorphOS users Efika owners Pegasos owners

You need to add Amiga One owners and X1000 owners to the choices.

I have both, but no longer any older Amigas !

Bill.

@djnick

I'm not waiting around, I'm just going to register my details...
I only "half own" my current amiga and still need to pay for the rest of it.

slowly but surely... thats the only way I seem to get anywhere.

Hopefully there are more people show up in Japan and China since I will be directly
supporting their use of Japanese and Chinese on Amiga OS through my own efforts.

[EDIT] adding myself is delayed... who the hell knows GPS co-ordinates for a location
when I can hardly read it...

I'm in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture soon to move from nearby Kitamatsudo Station,
to north of Tokiwadaira Station.

and it is dammed frustrating to try to use the map when it insists on numbers input
instead of being able to drop a dot on the map itself...which is how I have seen Google Maps
work ... gah!

Just frustrating!

[/EDIT]

The new admin part is up and running for everyone (who did not enter a faked e-mail address) now.

@Belxjander
When adding your point to the map, you will have to search your location (or a nearby city) to get the initial point location. When the initial point has been set, you are instructed to drag and drop it on the correct location.
(It has always been that way since I released the map)

Now, with the new admin panel, you can simply drag your current location to move it.

I really thought we'd have more users active in the US; I knew Europe was big but I'm surprised at the current difference. I see I'm still the only active Amigan in Swindon, England though :(

I guess the other question is - how many of these users added themselves years ago (as I did) but are no longer active?

@BillE

I have added filters for AmigaOne and X1000. The problem with filtering for AmigaOne, is that people name it different, I will hopefully catch the most of the AmigaOne users by searching for "Amiga One" and "AmigaOne". Those few who wrote "A1" will not be counted because this will also match "A1000" and "A1200".

@peo

Hi peo,

Just updated my details: all went smoothly including: resetting password, moving my location (dragging the pointer on the map) updating 'public info' and updating 'systems'.

Many thanks,

Rich

interesting how low persentage of Amigans register on some countries:

Country Users
USA 177
UK 111
Finland 81
Spain 79
Sweden 79
Germany 78
Italy 72
France 56
Australia 54
Denmark 37
Norway 36
Canada 34
Russia 29

I think some 50% of current/active Amiga users have registered in Finland, while 10% have registered themself in germany.

@kilaueabart
The mail with password reset instructions should normally arrive within a minute from requesting it. Send me the e-mail address you're using for the map, and I'll check what goes wrong.

Hi,

I have just made a minor update to the AMiGA-map page..
Added a filter for MiST owners, as I'm waiting for the arrival of my MiST..

http://map.amiga-archive.net/index.php?filter=mist

So far, just one user has mentioned the MiST system in the list of systems owned, but I guess there are some more..

The map is still alive, but the submissions to it have slowed down.. maybe we're all on that map now..
Anyway, this post is not to announce the map and get more people sign up (but that's always welcome).

The reason for posting is that I have moved my Amiga-map page to a newly installed virtual server, and had to update all scripts for PHP7, and a later version of Google Maps API and the MarkerClusterer addon.

From what I have tested, everything seems to work, but there might be something missing from my updates, so just report in case you have any kind of trouble.

The current URL of the map (on one of my domains) is
http://map.amiga-archive.net/index.php
