@mike

Can't be bothered getting that stupid flash advert work, Is that the one where Krusty asks if anyone know where you can get ink for an Amiga Printer?

Anyway, it's season 21, it's not going to be funny is it?

Yeah, can't be bothered to watch almost 7 minutes of the SImpsons. Friends don't ask friends to do such horrid things...

It's been unfunny, anti-funny? for 10 years now. That's why.

As far as I'm concerned it's used up any good will I ever had for it, which given that it was the best thing on the telly for 10 years was a lot of goodwill, but it's all gone now.

Please, please stop making the Simpsons..

I downloaded this episode you posted.. I think Omega is actually what is blurted out! Sigh, but great episode nonetheless! But then again I challenge you to find a bad episode of The Simpsons.

I can't say as I haven't watched the latest episodes so for me it's still a classic piece of TV.

You don't have to watch it if it's that bad nowadays

It's mediocre. I still watch it (such is power of habit), but I don't expect much from it. Gone are the years when The Simpsons where cutting edge of political and social commentary.

I was also mostly disappointed with new Futurama season. It had two or three good episodes but it's not just the same. Or maybe I'm getting old (nope, that's not it)

no, it's not just you. i also had hopes for the comeback of futurama, but was hugely disappointed in the new season. the first two episodes were almost painful. episode seven was excellent, and i quite enjoyed episode three. as for the rest? meh.

If it's the one with Krusty talking about an Amiga branded printer, then it is "Amiga", not "Omega" that is mentioned. I know this because I watch many shows with captions, and watched this on TV with captions when I first saw it.

Picture this. Me, walking in circles, explaining to my girlfriend how funny Futurama is and how she's going to love it. "You'll see, it's all good, it's all good". So, first two episodes air, we watch them and I don't even break a chuckle. I feel like idiot because I prised Futurama to high heaven and was served with that.

On the bright side, we're rewatching old episodes and she seems to get why I was ecstatic.

Funny, that would be two episodes I'd call Futurama worthy. OK, the Bender backstory wasn't half bad. First two plus "cats rules the earth" where terrible with zero chances of me rewatching it in future.

In Italy we have the new "The Cleveland Show" and it is funny like the oldest Simpson series (for me).
BTW, it is normal that a show that is 20 years old cannot travel like the first series. It is hard to create new series.

I saw first season. My problem with Seth MacFarlane's work is he's so easy to guess. "Family Guy", "American Dad" and "The Cleavland Show" follow exact same pattern.

Stupid Husband, Hot Mom, Daughter that hates Dad, Antisocial Son live in a neighborhood filled one dimensional characters. Throw Anthropomorphic character into the mix and here you go.

Still, his work makes me laugh while The Simpsons does not.

I know. I find myself to be animation nerd (my movies to animation watching ratio is 1:20, easily) but sometimes you just need to know when to exit the stage while you're remembered as shinning star. Every new episode erodes my memories of how awesome this show was. Every other episode is "Homer does something stupid, Marge is ####ed, he redeem himself, sappy ending".

I'm not. I'm watching animated stuff every day. Animation is just a medium, it's appeal is not inherit to "young people". That's common misconception like "gaming". Most gamers are in their 30s. Just because it's animated does not mean it's lower art form. I was told I'm stupid because I watch "kiddie stuff" by people who rot their brains over "Sex in the City" or "Dancing whatever".

I laugh at Ranma½, I laugh at old episodes of The Simpsons, I loved last season of South Park. It's not me getting old it's The Simpsons getting worse.

Yeah, I remember when the Simpsons first came on, I'd watch it every Sunday. But for the past 8 to 10 years I haven't watched one. Well maybe 1 here and there, but for the most part I just forget it's on and never have bothered to set my dvr to tape it.

I liked it at first, but after awhile I just never had the urge to remember to watch it. I got to watching King of the Hill instead. But it's not being done anymore.

This just sounds ridiculous, I've never seen any Amiga branded printers. The only Amiga printers I know of are Amiga compatible printers with drivers. Now that is getting to technical for a simple joke, but did any Amiga branded printers ever exist?

If they did the joke won't go as far as it could cause I've never heard of an Amiga branded printer! And I've been with Amiga since about 1987.

That said, must download and watch.

@mike et al.,

When the Simpsons writers have to resort to obscure cultural references, which the vast majority of their audience is unfamiliar or is culturally illiterate, then it is time for the show to end.
