Here is video of the latter part of the banquet at the Amiwest Show 2010. Trevor Dickinson of A-EON is the keynote speaker, followed by Ben Hermans of Hyperion. At the end, Amiga engineer Dale Luck gives a toast to the Amiga computer.

@amigang

He made my Amiga issues pale into insignificance.

However, he is also a successful businessman, so definately the man for the job.

Great banquet speech

I'm really interested to know more about this multiboot project for classic.

Trevor forgot to say one thing. He and Ben are not sure if all this will succeed but Dale said it all, something like we gave you something, you've to go beyond it if you want the Amiga to succeed.

So the only chance for the Amiga to succeed to some degrees is by having customers buying the X1000, the SAM, and of course we need vital software first then innovative one not found anywhere else if possible later.

Aros is to me only a mean to attract newcomers that can later move to OS4 and beyond.
I understand that many are frustrated by where we went after CBM bankrupty but its not a reason to stay in classics, emulation, clones, the community is too small...

So if we want the Amiga to be on par with other OSes then we've to buy new hardware.
Its really a tough call as it cost a lot of money compared to X86, to be frank the X1000 is like the A1000 and we know all that the Amiga market took off because of the A500 which was a strip down version of the A1000, so they should maybe have started with an X500...
The SAM are too expansive to be called X500.

Regards
Kamel

Did someone spot the slide where Trevor presentates itself as a beta tester for OS4.1 for Pegasos II and Pegasos I (!!!!)? Typo by Trevor? Or a product that didn't made it into the public?

yup. we saw that too, although if i recall, the port to the original pegasos boards was dropped due to a technical issue. don't remember much more than that.

@eliyahu

that's what the Trevor said during the presentation. think about other misfired ports: eLap, mac mini, how much effort was wasted (i know: experience counts but somehow it halted AOS developement)
