X1000 isn't availible to the mass yet, so any single cents are arrived from the Amiga community, maybe you refer about x1000 betatesters but after paying i think they already receive the machine

Is this a bit like FOX viewers' belief that WMDs were found in Iraq?

Don't you think A-eon would have mentioned actually shipping the beta boards on their website? Don't you think the day those boards actually *do* arrive, we will see half a dozen "unboxing" videos, followed by plenty of discussion, some benchmarks, lots of "I got a new toy and you don't!" teasing and arguments over which video card, PSU, case or keyboard is the best match for an X1000 board? Not to mention *LOTS* of "so what have you/they/anyone done with the Xorro chip so far" threads?

Trust me, when those beta boards reach the people who paid for them, you will *know* that, not "think" it.

As of now 38 people do not like real Amiga's.

Wizz.

@umisef

A bit over the top isn't it?
I would hope the new beta tester crop will have more class then that.

Does it matter? There are 55 who do. You need to look at the positive side more then the negative.

Looks like the voting ended with 61 Yes and 116 No votes.

I'm curious if any have changed their minds almost a year later, hence the new poll.

From what I understand this turned out to exactly as I was warning about. People have since paid $1000s of dollars and no boards shipped. Is that still currently the case?

One word...troublemaker.

Rude!

Perhaps, but it does make me wonder why so-called Amiga fans would answer 'yes'...

How you deduce that out of a poll that doesn't even remotly concern "real Amigas" is beyond me.....

The X1000 is pretty boring motherboard featureing an obscure CPU, a licence to be named "AmigaONE" running a reimplemenation of the orginal AmigaOS for which the developing company aquired the right to call it AmigaOS in ..... lets say .... interesting ways.

The last real Amiga was build in 1995 or so.

@Cheese

Pegasos was made to run mos/linux and later hyperion made os4 to run on it. Amigaone was made for os4/linux.

@Wizzard_o

We all could hit the "no" answer but X1000 release date still wouldnt get any better.

The worst possible case is they enter into endless redesign loop when some components on the mobo are obsoleted. SAM460 and PowerUp releases are still pending so it doesnt look like an easy year to the OS4 development team. Especially PowerUp requires lot of after sale support due to exotic configurations and older software base installed on those old machines.

Assuming beta tester boards start shipping in March I think X1K could hit the market in January 2012.

@AmigaHeretic

By my definition X1000 is a vaporware, but does that change anything? Nope. Amiga community has been living off vaporware since 1992. X1000 wouldn't be vaporware if "Amiga companies" stopped them selfs from posting self imposed deadlines that can't be met. It's AEon fault for putting "you don't have to wait for the summer" on their page and bringing the "vaporware" tag onto its product.

It's the announcements of upcoming announcement that are annoying.

Last year I didn't think your poll worth voting on.
This time i've voted No

Despite my opinion, in some peoples view the X1000 and the Sam 460 will slide directly from being vapourware to not real amiga, and an evil plot against the one true faith.

Sound familiar?
