@sundown

And those are my thoughts too. We have the right to use pseudonames here if we like and it is up to us if we want people to know who we really are. The same goes for Corporate accounts too, but it would help if we at least knew the position of the person posting using such an account so that we could ask questions accordingly. They don't have to tell us, but it would be useful.

@wawa

Yes, and those of us who passed are getting a free X1000.

I think he meant that Hyperion were seeing what sort reception they would get when they post news in an open forum. It seems that some people were more interested in nitpicking than asking appropriate questions and so they have decided that the experiment has failed. I'm sure some people here will be dancing with joy at this while the other 95% of us are just banging out heads against a wall.

A shame really as most people were asking some really good questions.

@Trixie

No need for insults here. And I believe that Andy is able to speak for himself.

Besides that, I never said anything against his work on Sketchblock and Blender. In case you missed it: Im using Sketchblock, too. Well, not for "doodling around" with 640 x 480 images, but also not 8000px or more.

I think, Andy´s points of view are explained deeply enough.

As are mine.

It's a forum and it is to be expected that opinions are different and the tone is not always as polite as it could be (we have moderators here to handle that). It has been a lot worse around here so why you choose to leave now I can't understand.

Actually I think you've got to grow a thicker skin, start communicating with your (potential costumers more regularly, answering peoples questions (if possible) and ignoring the FEW trolls left here.

Perhaps I was the only one who saw this thread as pretty harmless in regards to trolling?

Looks more to me that we need some new blood in the moderetor ranks, some with time and will to moderate after the TOS.

@Troels

He's not the only one considering leaving. I've had the same thought for some time also. This place has really become a mess. Sadly.

really? it sounds as if a name of some nordic mythical knight. as for my name (on all those forums, sometimes i was forced to use "wawrzon") its short of my firstname, which is ais if using my usual name openly. i can post my full name with no problem, just don want the google bots to find it in this context ;P (lets say for professional reasons).

This site is what you make of it and what you take and put into it..

Strange thing is I don't see who this "small group" are that you speak of and claim have "obliterated" the site...

Just because some people have different views and opinions from you that doesn't mean to say they have "obliterated" anything...

I still see this site as a very friendly place with lots of different views and opinions being shared, be pretty boring if we all just sat here agreeing on absolutely everything and afraid to say what we really think or believe in case it upsets someone with a different opinion...

Thankfully though that is not the way of the world and a wide diversity of views is what makes everything both here and in the real world interesting and enjoyable...

@All

How about collecting the questions here in a thread, then someone that is customer/developer on OS4 and not seen as troll or similar contacts Hyperion (by email) and then the answer here is published?

@Antique

I have considered leaving multiple times but spending a lot less time here has made me look at the site a little more lightly and for this particularly thread I couldn't see much trolling just a lot of slightly off-topic comments.

Then again, personally I don't give a sh#t which site Hyperion uses to give us non beta testers information as long as it happens on a regular basis (which IMO it has not).

In regards to the company account I only think it's reasonable that these posts are signed (history clearly shows it's a good idea), but that is something the aw.net team will have to decide.

I'm staying a little longer..

@OlafS25

We cant all agree, but it is the same people who constantly ruins aw.net, so it might just be a solution.

I think its a real damn shame, that yet again, it would seem that Hyperion is pushed away.

How ever there are other sites for me to visit!

We try and treat the people here like adult and hope that they will moderate themselves. If you want me to dig out my old combat boots and stomp around the forums issuing bans and deleting threads then too bad because I don't think that will make this a place that people will want to visit.

Meanwhile, in accordance with the TOS, stick to the topic of this thread and the topic isn't "moderation". Start a new one for that.

@darrin

the discussion gets off hand again. soon it will a huge offtop again. can you by your powers branch it into separate thread, this time properly, not just deleting the contributions and leaving the thread unreadable?

edit: ah youve just beat me to it. no offence meant, but i think the proper moment to react is now.

Sounds like a good idea. A new thread called "Questions For Hyperion" might be a place to start and we could submit them on a regular basis. There's no guarantee that all (or any) will get answered, but we could try.

@wawa

It would help if people just started new topics. Perhaps if I keep deleting the off topic remarks then it might happen.

Meanwhile, it is 6pm and I'm signing off and driving back to my hotel. I need a beer.

question not being answered (like those about the netbook), while others being deliberately considered, probably because more general (like mine), give an impression, they will not be answered anyway. as in the case of carton evert i propose not to bother and take it as it is. people are obviously aware of the standing questions, if they dont answer, then they don want to.
