@DiscreetFX

I do. If that is correct then it is his bad luck not requesting the refund. But still there is a bad taste after this. Do you have any contracts and requirements with Deron? You could request repayment.

@number6

Yeah, my situation (as Tedd says later in the thread) is a completely different situation and I only joined this thread due to my original situation being brought up. The original situation was that I had ordered a Video Toaster including Aladin 4D 5.x (I think that was the version) and realized after I got the Toaster that unless I felt like ripping apart my A4000D I already had to replace the Mediator in it with the original bus board so I could have a place to put the Video Toaster, then I'd need a second A4000D (along with a monitor).

Pyromania had told me that indeed they had an A4000D that they could sell me, along with a monitor. When I finally (after a VERY long process) received the monitor, it then took another week or so before I got the A4000D, which when it arrived was missing the top of the case, the hard drive in it was completely shot, and there was horrible battery damage on the board.

Pyromania at that point said to go ahead and send all of it back, which I did, and then afterward it seemed I couldn't get any more responses from them, tried calling them, etc. Finally posted on amiga.org and eab to see if anyone knew of a way to get a hold of DiscreetFX. Finally Transition started to talk to me about it and well here we are.

Hopefully that catches up everyone on THAT issue. This thread is all about Alladin 4D 6.0 for AmigaOS4, right?

I feel like I got pulled into the middle of a fight between three kids bantering about who's turn it is to push a little girl's face in the mud. We all know it's MY turn!

@slaapliedje

Apparently this is about Deron and not just about Aladdin or Pagestream, whether we like it or not.

The concepts I can't understand is that I have been asking for updates and eventually a refund so that the money can go to 'real' Amiga bounties for ever now and all I got in return in private emails was 'please wait as we have surprise news coming soon' and 'we have spent 100,000 hours fixing old bad code ' blah blah
Not once did anyone mention that I was not going to receive a refund.

Please don't play these games at this point as I'm only sad that I couldn't give more to Andy for his excellent blender port because I committed the money for the non-existent AmigaOS4.1 version of Alladin4D

@OlafS25

That would be my solution to the problem. Deron should refund all payments given to him from pyromania and so their are no hard feeling also provide any source code he updated. This should have been provided from the beginning. Out of kindness pyromnia could refund klx300r the $50 or $60 dollars he paid from those thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars that was givin to Deron.

Keep in mind while this sucks for any owners of Aladdin 4D it sucks the most for pyromania. We are not talking a little money taken out of the couch. Major funds were paid by pyromania to Deron.

Kind of sounds like he's the one who screwed over DiscreetFX in this, then again I've only been skimming most of this thread.

By the way I love Pagestream, had no clue that it had anything to do with Aladdin 4D. I thought GrasshopperLLC kept it up to date.

@DiscreetFX

I appreciate your friendship with Bill and your postings, but I'm concerned how Bill might react based on:

Quote:
Tedd is awesome though, he really means well.

but also...before that...

Quote:
Bill tuning in here, I really wish Tedd did not do this.

which I took for meaning posting on his behalf out of emotion.

Thank you for the offer but please keep the money and donate a portion to Andy for his blender and sketchblock work.

Dunno. Does this metaphor work or not?

When you buy a product defective from Walmart, it is YOU the purchaser who must track down the manufacturer. You have no right to return the product to Walmart. Heh.

#6

I suppose you should know but I find that very difficult to believe...

Walmart (Asda here in the UK) or any other company / store whether physical bricks and mortar or online are by law responsible for ALL goods they sell a customer in the UK, no ifs or buts...

Some stores try to tell you in cases like this that you need to "contact the manufacturer" why is actually BS and illegal under the consumer trade laws here and I find it very difficult to believe that in the mighty USA there are not similar consumer laws there as we have in most of Europe...

If you're the company selling a product, no matter who made it you are by law here responsible for refunds should anything go wrong as in this case...

I'd be interested if you could post a link please that shows what you have said is true in the USA concerning consumer laws...

@Franko

You noticed I went into sarcasm mode some days ago.
Think about it...

btw-we have stores that sell the same goods for 1/2 to 1/3 the price, so we don't shop there anyway.

You're nuts...

You paid your money in good faith and were strung along with "promises" & "teasers" for almost two years that a product was on the way for which you paid and gave them more than adequate time to deliver...

Now that DiscreetFX have finally admitted there is no "product", all you get is total BS asking you to send an e-mail for something DiscreetFX "Accounts Dept" should have on record !!!

What a damn shoddy way to treat your customers Tedd Gallion, if anyone should be "crying" here it's not you or Bill P. it's the customers who paid you good money and have been treated like crap by DiscreetFX... you're a damn disgrace to the Amiga community...

Seem other post...

The simple fact remains that the guy is obviously past caring about the shoddy treatment he got from DiscreetFX and has given up with it...

That doesn't make it right they way you strung along people who paid money to you in good faith and your so called "Accounts dept" doesn't even keep records of customers transactions...

If you were a decent & honest businessman with a bit of respect for yourself and your company you would issue the man with a full refund and an apology instead of the public shambles you have created here...

As Jorkany said to that "sarcasm & humour don't suit you"...

It's very difficult to tell when you're attempting it, please leave that to us professionals and you stick to dealing in facts like we all know and trust you for...
