@utri007

Way too harsh - "Commodore - the new US ways" suits it well.

Since All in One computers are limited in expansion,
desktop CUSA "Amigas" will be their (overpriced, should we doubt it?)
desktop PC line

Thing with CUSA VIC ... it even doesn`t resemble VIC at all, and somehow is strange it seems to be top line over C64x (while in reality C64 was substitute to VIC).

And that would be about all story of CUSA, until they release their software solution
for gaming emulation. Will it be better looking and easier then e.g.
forthcoming EMULA abd will it introduce anything interesting?

New kind of interesting fabless manufacturer, a non software developer that claim to be almost all of it in external PR. Hope that kind of exploits will not go forever, neither that market will be able to "accept all that innovation" for long time. Time will tell best, hardly that here it will be much supported - as "reinventing the wheel" with CUSA badge.

@Spirantho

Let me put it a bit clearer. When Escom onwed both the Amiga brand and Commodore brand they did, in my opinion, a good job by delivering Amigas as good as they could with the budget they had available. I think they were really serious about the Walker concept getting it to the market.

On the PC side of business they were just re-badging the Escom products to Commodore, which was not a real shame. It was re-branding the Escom make.

After Escom went bust the Dutch organisation had a re-start selling off-the shelf products with Commodore logo on it.

Having only been on the net for just over a year it seems to me to quite simply down to differences in culture and langauge that make some folk take such comments so seriously...

In Scotland such phrases you will hear all the time being said from one person to another is "ach drap deid" (oh drop dead) or "ah wish ye wur deid" (I wish you were dead). These are not meant in a literal sense of course but simply a way of saying to someone "go away I can't be bothered with you" or words to that effect...

But it's clear from observing such misinterpretations by different posters on these forums, before you complain about someone saying something like that, you should stop and think first that, just because you have taken it in a context in which it was most likely not meant then perhaps before complaining you should consider just how seriously and literarily such a post is meant to be taken...

In the UK there is really only one time when someone says "they wish someone was dead" when it really is meant literally and that's when it's to do with Maggie Thatcher (former 80's/ 90's UK Prime Minister) but that's a long sad story...

For the true answer to that you need to ask the original poster but I know just like everything else I read on these forums I don't take them seriously (even if such comments are meant to be)...

After all it's all just a bunch of anonymous people gibbering on about something as pointless as a ruddy computer and passing some time...

It's not life or death, it's not going to make the slightest difference or have any adverse affect on my life or yours what someone else has to say on one of these forums and if you're daft enough to let it, then hey, maybe you shouldn't be using them...

"New Vic Plus and Vic Pro"

And welcome to the world of commodity computers.

Buy low - sell high, then do it again. all you need is a
working gimmick.

Perhaps in 6 months everyone will be able to buy a Vic ++,
and a Vic SuperPro.

If your business is SELLING,,,, then that is the business.
Oranges, kitchen gadgets, beauty products, computers......
commodities.

It's not that interesting IMHO (and i don't mean it in a "flaming" way)... why not do an operation similar to what has been done for the C64? Wouldn't it be better to recycle C64's design and do it in white (if possible at all)? That would've had more sense IMHO...

The OS is now in Beta testing. I would expect to see it in the next couple of months. New systems will have the OS(s) pre-installed and there will be thousands of games included. So wait and see what Leo has been doing for nearly a year now, won't be too much longer.

why not produce a copy of the original Vic20 case like they did for the 64??

VIC series, AFAIK, ment to be the economical system. Going with the original VIC style would add cost to it as would the keyboard blowing past what C=USA wants it to sell for. He's making excellent sales on the VIC series, he appears to have gone with a winner.

@damocles

So do you have rights of distribution for the games then? Or are they all PD games?

Just to warn you if there's a single game by Activision, Codemasters or Ultimate on there you could get a lot of trouble from some very expensive lawyers...

Do you have a list of games which come with the system?

How much are those Amigas gonna cost. Because you can't be serious about them starting at the 2k mark.
