Hi all,

For my webserver, it accepts only 4 connections at a times, don't forget it's a personnal webserver at my home.

For Workbench, there is no problem for launching the 3.5 Workbench for example, I have made my video with a 3.1 Workbench, you can see it HERE.

For the 060 daughter board, there is no exact price for the moment and from what I know, only Jakub has got one.

For buyng without VAT, since I'll work with an old Amiga user which is administrator of his company, as soon as things are ok with Mike and my friend, it will be possible, so, please be patient.

The Minimig verilog is being/has been ported to the FPGA Arcade board like it was ported to DE1 etc. It's also being enhanced with aga, better softcore processer, and other things like a new graphics core with p96 driver. they are working on 060 processer board as well as softcore 68k improvements. But it "is" still Minimig.

@Faranheit

I'm bit confused now. I've sent mikej an email ages ago with my interest of getting one board when it becomes available, got a response that I'm on the list. Now you are posting that you are reselling boards and getting ppl interested in boards.. Where should I post now to get one of the board?

mike can do this too, its just he hasnt as he didnt want to sell a board with incomplete features to the masses.

all due respect to Faranheit, but this is just creating misunderstandings as shown in this thread.

Oups, a little error in the url :
For Workbench, there is no problem for launching the 3.5 Workbench for example, I have made my video with a 3.1 Workbench, you can see it HERE.

In order to clarify the situation, I don't want to interfer with those who has yet ordered a board directly from Mike.

I just to put here some informations about the status of these boards.

And I take orders only to give more time to Mike for debugging and improve the boards, accessories and core.

For the moment, anybody can have contact with Mike directly.

For VAT, as soon as we talk together with Mike and my friend (which an administrator of a computer company in Luxembourg), it should be possible to remove it, just be patient please.

Sorry I have been quiet the last few days, I have been away at a music festival drinking far too much. I have received a complete barrage of email about Faranheit's advertising of the Replay board.

We have been in contact for a while and I have been using him as pre-production non-developer beta tester. I agreed that he could put boards in cases and resell them if he wished, but that other distributors may come on line, and the boards would always be available directly from the www.fpgaarcade.com website.

The price for the current boards is 199Euro + VAT for the non-composite/svhs version and 229Euro +VAT with. VAT in Sweden is 25%. I can ship without VAT to companies only in the EU. Everybody who has mailed me and requested a board is still in the queue and will be prioritized over the disti channels!

Producing boards is not a problem, but I do not want to sign off the PO for assembly of the next batch until I am 100% happy. I have about 30 boards which are not stable because the DRAM timing is fixed in the current core - and every chip will have slightly different timing. So, the full validation is being held up until I am totally happy, then we press the button.

The new core looks pretty much the same as before, but a whole lot of infrastructure has changed to support multiple cores and dynamic configuration etc. A number of people are working converting different games or platforms to the board.

It has been a long journey, but we really are reaching the good bit now.
Thank you for your patience

The factory where the Replay boards are assembled can turn out 10K+ units a week, quantity is not a problem - making sure the design is ready for mass production is ;)

~maybe - the entire codebase is being rewritten and improved (much is in VHDL now) so I would describe it as evolved from Minimig ;)

Hi MikeJ!

Is there a chance you can already tell which other Distributors will be taking preorders now. Like Relec or AmigaKit or any other?

I REALLY want one and don't want to miss it...

Regards
Marcus

@MikeJ or @faranheit

great to see you post here.

Hows the compability with the board? , will most games work or does games need patching etc?.

@Toaks

Around a year ago I started making a list of games and stated whether they worked on the Minimig v1.1, Chameleon64 or FPGA Arcade. I posted my results here and on AO, but shelved it because I was expecting a new core update for the FPGA Arcade and I didn't fancy re-running all of the tests again.

I've searched the archives here and on AO for my thread and I can't find it anywhere (god knows what I must have called it).

From memory, when it comes to OCS/ECS games then the Minimig v1.1 is the best solution due to it actually having a real 68000 CPU. The Chameleon and FPGA Arcade allow you to select multiple soft cores and I did the FPGA game testing using AGA and 68020. There are some bugs in the soft-CPU I currently have so some games refused to work, some had glitches, but most ran perfectly. I actually played Aliend Breed 3D AGA on the FPGA Arcade briefly.

As soon as Mike sends me an updated core I'll go back to testing again and publish the results.

I intend to test the games from WHDLoad first, and if that doesn't work then I'll test from ADFs.

@elwood

Thanks for that. I must have added my lists to existing posts. I thought I had started new ones.

The Open Circuits wiki could probably do with a facelift and cover all 3 machines. It has been so long since I used it that I forgot it existed,

I have the IR controller for the Chameleon64 now, so testing games on that will be easier.

Hi all ;)

This is a new video made by Yakub demonstrating the 060 daughter board speed with Shapeshifter :
Youtube Video Here

I hope it will be available sooner.

Other videos of the FPGA Arcade board demonstrating the new firmware (without 060 daughter board) will be done in one or 2 weeks and will be available on my personnal web :
Here

The FPGA Arcade boards can still be pre-ordered (details on my webserver), there should be available between end of february and middle of april ;)

The daughterboards will come later ;)

Thanks to Mike and Jakub for their awesome work ;)

@retro

I know that there is a lot of time since last informations on this board, but according to Mike, things are getting close to the final stage :
- new firmware is nearly ready,
- production is currently being made (for fpga arcade boards),
- 060 test board give very good results :)

Give a little time to Mike for finishing its great work ;)

Thanks, Faranheit
